    Ballance Race Report/ Results Posted

Great turnout all weekend, especially for mid-February. Saturday Practice was COLD!! Sunday racing was HOT!!

Temps Saturday said 36 but a NW howling wind made it feel like 20 all day, but a big turnout of riders braved the cold for practice and the track was in perfect condition. Just cold all day. New age only practice splits went over very well with all riders and new Vet only practice was a big hit. Less groups = more time on track. Each practice session was in 15 minute mark. Very safe day, lots of positive comments on new track design and as day went on a few riders pointed out a fix or two needed and John and Bill jumped on equipement and made each change. Big thanks to Youth 13-17 guys!!

Riders from 6 states signed up for Sunday Racing some from as far away as Michigan, the weather was much, much warmer and the sun was bright all day. Rider turnout was about average but the racing was nuts in all classes!! 8 ATV Pros and 7 Open A (Bike) Pros. Intense high action motos all day...Pro motos ...

Nothing physically but mentally and especially when learning the processes of doing them, they have a lot in common.

Hey guys, anyone up for some riding tips?

Clutch in or out while braking???

The rule of the track here is to leave the clutch out while braking so the engine helps slow you down and helps control the braking process. Itís kind of like anti lock brakes. The best stopping power is just before the rear wheel locks up and thatís just what leaving the clutch out will help you with. This is done when youíre still carrying some speed into the corner. If itís a tight corner where youíre going to be slowing down to a slow speed in the middle of the corner and/or if youíre going to do a brake slide than you have to pull the clutch in so you donít kill the engine.

Iíve seen this technique of leaving the clutch out while braking misused and abused by a lot of beginner riders. Every time they apply the back brake they put the clutch in. They do this because they donít have good braking control and by stabbing the rear brake on they would stall the engine. Sometimes making it stall even easier by being in too high of a gear.

Itís really the same technique for 2 strokes and 4 strokes. Itís also the same when exiting a corner with 2 or 4 strokes. The 2 stroke does depend on ...

We've moved our classifieds section from pp_classifieds to just a forum format. The old area never did work right and created too many support tickets (if we have a ticketing system). They want another $100 for an upgrade and I'm unmotivated to write my own. Please repost your items at your leisure.

We are looking for assistance for a few of the 2013 MX models, in order to design our high compression pistons for the new season. If you have any of the following bike models, and are willing to part with your cylinder head for a few days, Wiseco will compensate you with free product!

Presently, we need cylinder heads for the following:

    2013 CRF450R
    2013 KTM250SX-F
    2013 KTM450SX-F
    2013 KX450F

The cylinder head will need to contain valves and a sparkplug. We would need the head for a few days to take some measurements, after which we would return them. Contact dsulecki@wiseco.com for details on how to send these in (or drop off, we are in Mentor Ohio).

    Thanks everyone! ...
