    yz 125 top end replace

So I took the top end off my 06 yz 125 in preparation to send out for a 144 kit....first time removing a two stroke top end in about 14-15 years!! Never would have attempted on a four stroke...lol
Everything went smooth but I am asking from some of the experts on here...I noticed some side to side movement (not much) in the connecting rod...is that normal.
Rotation and everything seems fine just was wondering if the rod is supposed to be tight and only move up and down ? Thanks.

You will have side to side movement with the connecting rod on the crank pin.
By side movement you are feeling the rod slid left and right on the crank correct?
What you dont want is the rod to rock on the pin.
I dont know the specs for your model is off hand but there is quite a bit of side to side clearance.
There are thrust washers on each side of the connecting rod and possible .030 or so clearance.
I can look it up if you need it.
