Sad day - my dad who was the original 163 and Rocket Robin passed away quickly this morning in an instant while at work. He was looking forward to the CLE SX tomorrow as he was there for SX in its infancy back in the 70’s!!! Still riding at age 80 last year and hadn’t been out yet this year after turning 81 in January. If you still have your parents, tell them you love them!

Ah man im very sorry for your loss my friend.

I type this as i just left my father inlaws who is on hospice. Hes taking a turn and not wanting to eat. I was working in Wadsworth and on my way through barberton i stopped at his favorite fried chicken joint, belgrades, and got him and my MIL a meal.

So shocked and sad when you told me today. We all know the days are coming that our parents will be gone but it doesn't make it any easier when it actually happens.

All those times traveling with him and at the races are great memories that I have. So many funny BigMac quotes over the years.....

I was sorry to see Rob passed away. I rode many Wednesday nights at Smith Road with him. He inspired me to keep riding late in life. He always had funny stories to tell, I remember he said he had both knees replaced at the same time and was 1 and a half inches taller after the surgery, he said he told the Dr. he would only do it if he did both at the same time. His passing makes me remember we are all vulnerable and will pass along someday. But it also inspires me to enjoy the life we have and live it to the fullest. I'll always remember stopping at your pit and talking to him, Marc the Shark, Pitracer John, Joe Quest, and many more. RIP Rob.

Robin, I am so very sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of your dad at the track. He was a motivation to many of us to keep riding late in life. He will be missed. I'm praying for you and your family.
