Snow bike is an AMA thing? Really?

Anyone else get an e-mail from the AMA about this Snow Bike series?
Why would the AMA be behind this? How does this quality as a motorcycle? I would have assumed the sanctioning body would be the snowmobile group over motorcycle.

No, I am not banging on the AMA (yet) just wondering how they justify this?

Now my AMA money is being used for this?

As an avid Snowbiker, I for one feel good to know that the AMA is fighting to keep my rights intact!

The AMA were probably early adopters for the potential untapped money. My gut feel is that it's a motorcycle with tracks but I suppose if you get technical...

Haha yeah thanks I was being a bit sarcastic. For anyone that's interested they have rentals up near houghton Michigan. It's a helluva drive up into the upper peninsula though.

From what I've read they're almost a bust unless you live in an area with a large amount of powder.
