With the Ohio State Fair already canceled, and now this.......Looks pretty bleak for VMD.

Coronavirus cases climbed to their 12th-highest point in Ohio on Tuesday. Gov. Mike DeWine announced new restrictions on fairs and changes to for child care providers.

Gov. Mike DeWine announced Tuesday that he would heavily limit activities at county fairs while loosening COVID-19 restrictions on child care providers come August.
The state health department, DeWine said, will issue an order to prohibit games, rides and other carnival activities at fairs scheduled to start or occur after Friday. Only junior fair activities will be allowed to continue, DeWine said.

At least 22 cases of COVID-19 — and possibly one death — were traced to the Pickaway County Fair last month, according to Pickaway County Public Health.
“We’ve seen a lack of distancing. ... We’ve seen fairs that were clearly not enforcing any mask order at all ... that’s just a real shame,” DeWine said. “It’s clear we cannot have fairs that are safe.”

The Hartford Fair in Licking County had already made plans to make adjustments at this year’s fair, scheduled to run from Aug. 9-16, before Gov. DeWine’s announcement this afternoon.
The fair’s directors had already decided on Monday to cancel all grandstand events. The Junior Fair will still move forward, in accordance with the new state order and a plan proposed to the Licking County Health Department in June.
“While there is no way to guarantee a completely safe COVID-19 environment at the fair, we believe this plan will assist with hopefully reducing the chance of transmission of the virus,” said Licking County Health Director Chad Brown about the original arrangement
