I almost applied for a technology position several years ago that was located in the GA offices. It was for exactly the same work I have done for the last 20 years. I just wasn't sure about moving to GA............now many more Ohio winters later I'm like why didn't I go for it....

Back when Yamahas were yellow I had an opportunity to stroll through the YZ race shop there on Katella Avenue. I'm surprised that they hadn't made the move earlier.

Because you were afraid! It’s ok everyone is afraid to be out of there comfort zone. Everyone is afraid of change. I was in the same situation. Born in Ohio, grew up in Ohio! Thought Ohio was great and my home. Took the leap almost a year ago to move out of state! Absolutely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Now live in northern Alabama!! What a difference. Not only are the people so much more polite and happy but it’s the cheapest property tax state in the country. Also where we live there is no city tax, fuel prices are cheaper than up there and we are only hours away from some of the prettiest beaches in the country. Oh and moto is alive and well down here !!! Can ride a street bike yr round. It was 82 degrees today! Sorry but once you get adjusted to the south you’ll look back and see that Ohio blows!!!!!

Duh. Theyll lose everything cool in California eventually. Even some of the more "normal" liberals I know realize how screwed up California is.

Im close to actually hating Ohio these days. So much so getting close to the tipping point. If it wasnt for our business and elder family, we would be gonzo. I literally only like Ohio in November for hunting lol. The thought of rebuilding my business in another state is definitely something scary for some reason.

What made you pick northern Alabama Carlisle? I like southern Alabama, above the Destin FL area. Would be close to monster mountain and close enough to the beach to make my wife happy. I really do like Florida but most of the areas I really like are just too busy. Daytona/new Smyrna area definitely has an appeal though.

Last year when the wife and I went to Destin, we drove straight down out of Montgomery AL, just to get a better scope of the land again. It was our 2nd time through that area. Definitely worth consideration. My teenage buddy moved just west of there in 1980 to southern Mississippi, an hour north of the Gulf. Lived there until he passed away a couple years ago. Loved it down there.

I did spend time in Wiggins ms when the Gills moved there. Just north of Harrisburg. I loved it there too.

It just kinda picked us. We wanted out of Ohio. Tried Florida for 3 months a couple yrs ago, it’s just way too expensive to live. We wanted nicer weather yr round, but with a change of seasons. We came down here in May of last yr just to check it out. We really liked it. Weather, people, mountains etc. just felt very comfortable so we moved down in July!!! It’s booming down here. With the arsenal here running the show and everything moving here, Huntsville is one of the fastest growing cities in America! It’s funny because the only building in downtown Huntsville is the hospital, so when you think of big city you think of big tall buildings. It’s the total opposite here. Redstone aresenal is what’s making this place boom. Never heard of it until we moved down here!!!
