MOTO BOOTS

I typically would be looking at the TECH 7 boots. Im a little sticker shocked so i started looking around. Obviously you get what you pay for. Im looking at some FOX MOTION boots? Any thoughts? reviews? Longevity? OR any other boot out there UNDER $500.00 in that same kinda quality level. My cheap ass thor boots SUCK. Looking to jump back on the track next year, the woods is getting old real quick hahaha

Ive tried alot. Im picky about feel and tech 10s were no good for me. Switched to tech 7s and i could feel more, but missed ankle protection. I switched back to instincts and i don't think ill ever not wear them sidis are too narrow, gaernes are too bulky. The motion is dang near the instinct as i bought a pair for my daughter. They get my vote. Or find a used like new pair of instincts on marketplace, mxlocker, or mxboot.com. I got both of my instincts for 300 or less and they were literally like new. Not even scuffs on the inside of the boot.

Ive worn instincts since 2021 and i love them. Bought a used pair of tech 10’s earlier this year from MxBoot.com and I’ll never go back. The tech 10’s are amazing. However, i picked up a brand new pair of tech 7’s still in the box for $200 off of market place, and a brand new sm10 era’s helmet for $375. Just keep looking and you’ll find some killer deals.

Whats the consenses on sizing? My shitty thor boots are pretty true to size. I feel like Ive tried the Tech 10's and im not a fan of the inner boot and the sizing was off to me. DO all these higher priced boots have those inside?

I've used O'neal boots since the 90's. I've liked that they have a couple of half sizes, specifically 10.5 that I wear.

I wear their top boots which are called RDX and have an ankle pivot and adjustable calf plate. No inner booty, but the inside is like wearing a quality sneaker. I haven't even used moto socks for years since the inside of the boots is so nice. I just wear regular calf height socks.

I have wide Fred Flintstone feet so I always wear size up in boots. I wear an 8.5 wide in shoes and I get 10.5 in boots.

Long-time Sidi user, both motocross and cycling.
Known for being a bit undersized; recent purchases have been correctly sized.
Best feature of the MX boot (SRS 3 Crossfire) is the no-bootie, replaceable sole, and almost all parts.

Regardless of which brand, do you have access to a place to try them on, such as Iron Pony?

I could go to a few places within 1 hr. ive looked at those places but it always appears they have the couple selections of mid tier and low tier but only one the most expensive boot. I never knew there were so many! I cannot assume the cheap line of boot will fit anywhere near the same as a more expensive one.

So i wear an 11 and i have a wide foot, my tech 10’s with the booties are sz 11, but i bought pre owned for $250 from MxBoot.com so they were already broken in, and the tech 7’s i have are size 12 and slightly too big, but i wasn’t passing up a brand new pair of tech 7’s for $200. Fox instincts have half sizes. My last pair was a size 11.5.

Tech 10s are the best boots. Have saved me more than I can imagine. From casing to over jumping while also having wear ankles anyways. Not everyone likes the inner bootie. I love it makes it super tight and supportive. I wear anywhere from a 11.5 to 12 in shoes and wear a 12 in tech10s. Might be the most expensive boot but if you take care of them you can have a solid pair for about two years depending on how much riding you do

And how sharp your footpegs are bc their soles wear out fast

Always have ran stock pegs and sharpened them as needed and never have blown through the soles I got the washing and drying down I blow out every seam super good so there’s no water or moisture and that’s what keeps them so fresh so long also allows me to run 2-3 years and then sell them and get into a new pair I also have two sets but have had my blue set for over 3 years I believe I sold my other set for $250 in spring and got a brand new pair for $450

Since your talking about washing and keeping them clean. How the hell yall doing it? Everytime mine end up soaking wet. I sometimes put them on a boot dryer but they seem to shrink a bit when doing that. Ive tried traffic cones, ive tried some homemade contraption, and ive tried holding them, with aboslutley no luck.

But a blower off Amazon for about $70 and will be the best purchase you buy. I used it on my bike but especially good on my boots as I can blow out every seam I can wash my boots spotless then blow and dry them off and put them on and there dry inside and out.

This is what I have and is perfect will last you a long time I’ve had mine for 3 years and is perfect

Tech 10 imo max protection, fairly true to size.
Tech 7 more comfortable for sure.
Sidi were fine when I tried them but perhaps a tad narrow, I have a wide foot. Probably several generations ago.
Haven't worn latest gen Fox instincts but 1st gen ran small, but comfy.
Gaerne sg22 felt awesome just trying them on. Sg12 way too wide for me.

I swear by the protection of the 10's. I'm heavy and have cased some big hits, always came through for me.

I have one of these, works great and folds up to take up hardly any space. I think they stopped making them though.

I also still have one of the original Boot Bunny wash stands that was made locally in Ohio about 20 years ago. I remember I bought like 10 of them to be a "dealer" and sell them on here....but I couldn't sell them because the dude that made them just kept giving them to everyone! I was probably the only one that paid money for them LOL. I ended up giving them all away over the years.
