Gas Prices

I've seen projections stating $5 a gallon by Summer. My sister is a manager for Kroger and said she's already had talks with suppliers about the big food cost increases because of this. How the heck are we supposed to be affording this?

That would basically mean that a trip to ride at Briarcliff would cost me $100 in gas.

Looks like it's Apple Cabin and Smith Road for me all season!

Agreed, what are you thinking Race Fuel is gonna cost? It's already $6 per gallon a few months ago, I rather not pay 12.

I'm sure every Pitracer reader/adult consumer on here has seen price jumps at the grocery store steadily over the last 2-3 years. They have talking a lot on Nightly Business Report, in the "futures" market, about certain food commodity shortages and that it alone is going to drive prices through the roof. I'm not exactly sure what a pound of coffee cost's right now but it is climbing real fast. They were talking tonight about how midwestern farmland values are possibly ballooning because of the international grain shortages. Then compound wild gas prices on top of that. eeeeek!

What really twists my nipples is when they downsize your twinkies and then raise the price also.

Filled up the van for $94 the other day.. that was with .20 cents off fuel perks too.

Looks like it's going to be an expensive summer. Boats and bikes (well, the van that hauls the bikes) drink too much fuel.

No BC? Thats just crazy talk. Looks like we need to get some fuel sponsors!

Whats crazy is race gas might budge 20 cents. Its been at $6.667 around me for years, yes years. Even through the last great fuel scare. I think it might have been $6.25 before that.

Well if we had storage at the cabin and Briarcliff we could leave the bikes there and carpool to the track????

I like the one idea, we could all live at the track, hunt small animals that enter the premises for food and make tents out of used tear offs. We could make this happen, whos in! Just have to get permission from some people first hahaha

Our fine president was quoted as saying people who live 50 miles from work or further should sell their house and buy closer to work to save gas....... What an idiot.

So how IS that change thing working??

I just had my offer on a house here accepted last week, and 3 jobs come open back in Ohio. Then, I was told today they're looking at moving the plane to an airport 70 miles away (I'm 12 away now). And with prices forecasting to go to $5/gal this summer. Thanks alot!

That program was very successful. That was political wording for "lose your job, and the bank forecloses on your house". Look how many people no longer waste fuel by driving to work!
