Picked up a clean 05 and naturally I wanna tinker with it lol I wanna swap to the 3S forks and wondering if anyone can shed some wisdom on it for me what forks will work with out changing brakes and all that basically just wanting to put newer forks on it. Any Info will helps thanks guys.

if youre going to do it, id get the 056 clamps too that way an 06 fender and number plate will bolt right up

id call a yamaha shop and see if the part numbers are the same for an 05 caliper, and whatever one youre getting. i would imagine that they didnt change within these years though, but i'm not sure. and yeah i ment 06 clamps lol

Found 07 forks with OEM clamps on eBay will it work wil my brake caliper now or will I need that too?

What are the 07 forks from? If they are YZ125,250 2st, or 450, they will bolt right on, the 250F that year used the newer style caliper, so you would need that too, if they're 250F forks. On the triple clamps, 250 2st and 450 clamps are a direct bolt on. 125 and 250F clamps are the same, but you would need to use the stock stem from your bike.

They are off a 250f, I found 06 450 forks and 07 clamps.

07 450 clamps? If so, they will fit right on, don't pay too much though, there are lots of them available. The 06 450 forks will fit with no problems, they should be valved and sprung for the 250 though, 4 stroke valving is quite a bit different from 2 stroke. If you don't already have a suspension guy, pm me and I'll put you in touch with the guy who does mine. Excellent work and reasonable price, also local [for me].

The clamps are off a 07 450 he wants 60 for them, the forks are off a 06 450 wants 399.00 for them isn't really bad for a better set up.

The steering stem will be different from the 4-stroke & 2-stroke,also if you are going from a 2005 bike the front wheel axle is different from 2005 to 2006 and up.The diameter is the same but the 2006 and up is a couple millimeters longer... I did want you are trying to do on a 2005 YZ125 I had.

Is it worth going through with it for the 3S ?
