Race Tech Suspender Goodies, etc.??

Anyone have any experience with the Race Tech Gold Valve, Rebound Seperator Valve, and/or the Rebound Gold Valve kits? Even more specifically on a 2005 KX250 2-stroke? If I had my choice and the bank account I am thinking I'd just get me a set of Ohlins and call it done...however not so much. Someday maybe...just not today.

That said, I need some suspension upgrades and at a minimum I'm going to get the bike sprung right. I did up each end to the next higher weight, but this fat boy needs some more lift. I wasn't thinking valving, etc., but the more I think about what might me more comfortable out on the track I think suspension.

Just curious if anyone has any experience with the Race Tech stuff out there or what might be other suggestions. Also thought about upgrading the suspension to newer units, but two questions come to mind:

1) What else will I need to upgrade (i.e. triple clamps, etc.) to go to a newer KX setup if it indeed can be done.

2) With an upgrade to newer suspension units, I'll still need to get it set up for me and in that, would it be cost effective to just upgrade my current units?

Laters.

True, but not true. I never talked to him about anything more than just swapping out my springs. I just wish PDR was closer to me. He's never steered me wrong...

Hey Dave...what's was you thinking???... text/email me.

I acutally totally forgot I put this post out here. Must have done it while trying to stay awake for a west cost 450 main... ;)

all the race tech stuff is nice. i had the full set up in my 2009 crf450. g2r gold valves front and rear, rebound seperator nut in shock and the midvalve kit. it was the plushest set up ive ridden besides the ohilins i had for my yamaha. best bang for your buck. i did mine myself but most wont be able to or will eff it up. best to have someone with knowledge and experience install it or go to race tech directly. like i said i did mne myself but if i had the money i would send it to six12 suspension back in fl they are the best race tech tuners ive found on the east coast.

Besides, I'm clueless. Really I am. If not for peeps like Dave, I'd be worse off than I already am...

We'll see where I land... Thanks again! :)

I have Stiffer Rech tech Fork springs and Rear shock springs for a 2010-2013 YZ 450 for sale. Less than 5 hours on the springs.

Thanks John, but although it looks like I could use your fork springs, due to the weight difference between my 2005 KX250 and your YZF450 vs. my weight, I could use your stock spring rates and be in the ballpark. Stiffer than stock might be too much. I don't suppose you know what spring rates you have do ya?

Check the RT site to find out what springs you'll need. I had a 2005 KX250 and needed softer springs front and back. I did have RT Gold Valve suspension installed and it did make the bike better. But, this was the first year for the KYB twin chambers and they were pretty harsh even after two different companies valved them for me.
