Corona Practice

Scott held practice at east fork today. Had the track all prepped and ready to roll at 9am. A/B and Vets 9 to 1 and C and small bikes from 1 to 5. He had probably 60 to 70 this morning and I am told maybe 100 big bikes and 50 little ones this afternoon (I was not there in the afternoon, that's what I was told).

He had two colors of wrist bands, one in the morning, one for the afternoon. He asked people to park at least 10 foot from each other and social distancing when not on the track. From what I saw every body followed the guidelines the morning people left to track so that not too many people were on the property.

I think it worked great. Driving past the golf course in Wilmington on my way home, the parking lot was packed. And looking out on the course people looked to be much closer on the T boxes than anyone at the track. So why are they allowed to be open and a track can not?

The governor announced this week that there is a Corona Virus business appeals board that is hearing any disputes that one business in one county for example is being treated different than another like business in another county. Or if a business feels they should be allowed to operate. They then make a decision. I would suggest Rt 62 and BC file appeals. They can base their appeal on the fact that clinton county is allowing a MX track to operate, and also argue that with proper protocols like Scott put in place, he kept people at a distance and had no issues. They said the appeals board would be making quick decisions.

Just my thoughts. But scott made it work today for sure, and the riders in attendance did a great job following the rules.

Total today was around 260 with around 80 in the morning session. Clinton county health department and sherrif had to check with someone in Columbus to allow the track to open this weekend , Scott did not get the final go untill almost 2pm Friday. I assume there is several dynamics that played into allowing East Fork to open. Clinton County and surrounding counties have little to no Covid-19 cases. I assume the northern part of the state has seen and or have more reported cases. This maybe why the county health departments may pulled the string on letting tracks open. This is my option and I maybe totally off base.

But everyone at the track really did what they were asked. If a golf course is allowed to open, and people did what EF did today, no reason some of these other tracks cant also.

Better yet, hopefully the president pulls back on all this crap and we all just get back to what we do.

Malvern was told no. There was no wiggle room at all. They were told if they had any riders the police would show up.

That's why I mentioned the new appeals board. Malvern, Rt 62, BC could all go together on one appeal and file it Monday and hopefully be open by the weekend. But if they dont write the simple appeal and explain the argument and their solution to numbers, similar to what Scott used for a procedure, it's on them for not trying if they truly wish to open.

Can’t just make exceptions to policies without another layer of buearacratic s**t. Fill out paperwork. So someone can lose it or let it sit on their desk.

Politicians aren’t essential. We can do just fine without em.
