W.T.M. - Weekly updates

Went to 62 on Saturday and man it was packed. Definitely not an indoor rider by any means and not riding since minios I was rusty for sure. It was fun but tbh I don’t think I’d race it. Not complaining here cause it was partially my fault due to having Christmas party last night but I got there right at opening and by the time I left I only rode 3 sessions and I left by 2 so on a Saturday if you show up very first practice your most likely only going to get 4 sessions in before they close at 4 which is crazy. They had A,B, 3 C groups, 85s,65s and pit bikes and a 50 group. It was slammed. Lots of waiting but was nice getting out the house and ride going to go south soon

We went Friday night. 3-4 groups plenty of seat time. Weeknights are the way to go if possible

Unfortunately it’s 2 hours straight from work and my house so I wouldn’t even get there till about 5:30 and if I do that on a Friday it’d be alright but any other day I’d be waking up at 5 the next day which would suck

If the weather is good this weekend and that R3 place opens in Tennessee I might fo down and ride for the weekend been wanting to try it out and straight down 75 so easy drive compared to mx421 and eastbend

2 hours into the drive south club cancelled. Airbnb was already paid for so we kept driving and ended up at black ankle in NC on Saturday track was fun. They had a huge mulch pile they boys and I played in it for hours after riding the track for a while. I have tried to get them to just ride and play on their dirt bikes before and they just wanted to ride the tracks. They had a blast making mulch jumps, turns tracks and a section of what was about 30 piles worn down into whoops. Probably close to 3hrs we played in these piles lol.
421mx cancelled for Sunday so we ended up at east bend. It was our last choice but the only place that opened so it was still 3 seasons then back home.

We're at 62 this weekend. Well, Friday and Saturday. Only riding I get in anymore is outdoors season riding the KX65 around the facility.... Well, until Kawasaki comes out with that new KX300 smoker...then I'll have to get serious. May sell all Spencer's stuff... I'll still be way short...

Spare engine I picked up last year that I was testing out while I was trying to sell it seized up after practice last Wednesday evening. Swapping it out over weekend Spencer comes to chat with me while I was getting ready to put the clutch in and before I knew what he was doing, he asks...is clutch in...while he was pumping the clutch lever... Blew out the slave cylinder before I knew it. After spending most of the afternoon putting in the stock clutch, somehow I got 'er done and we went to practice Saturday night. Ordered a slave valve rebuild kit today...overnight. Should be good to go for Friday. Either way, we will have some sort of clutch...

Great job guys. Few technical difficulties but nothing to write home about. I'm sure it takes a huge effort to make this happen. I noticed Fast Traxx did a live stream for their "Battle at the Barn". The Rt.62 live stream was definitely more professional. Very cool stuff to see it out there for anyone to watch anywhere in the world really.
I think the issue was probably when the internet went down. We're sitting ducks if that happens. Was odd, like someone was using all the bandwidth but Barry got it fired back up.

Also Facebook only lets us stream for 8 hours then you have to reboot it. Youtube doesn't restrict stream time.
We love the feedback though keep it coming!

I had my 3 of my family members watching and texting afterward. Very cool stuff you guys are doing. You're reaching alot of people that want to be there but logistically it's not worth it to them. Keep the good work! Keep it basic and operating and I believe you'll get good results.
That's what it's all about!!

Yep. Best job I ever had. Lived like a king. 15 and money flowing out my ears flagging at a job within a sport I absolutely loved.

Sigh.

Left school at 2:40. Drove to Nemx started 4-9. Went home. Saturday morning worked quads 9-2, then bikes 3-9. Sunday 10-6.

Got paid for 25 hours of work Friday though Sunday. Rich kid. ~$200 cash. And they let me ride when I wanted, mostly just goofed around on my pitbike.

I’m down in Florida for a few weeks and hit up Dade City MX for the first time last night, pretty fun place. Reminds me of the old Tampa MX but riding on mashed potatoes

For you really old guys and crusty old forum peeps.... I met RM250Guy and RC16 there for an open ride day like 25 years ago. They were both big on Freshdirt, Mototalk and Motodrive. RC16 became famously hated on Vital years later.
