Smith Road, George would let me run the TT in the old timers class, which then was 40 and over, I wouldn't take any trophies, won every time. George got the biggest kick out of it, he would give me a t shirt each time. Mike Hawkins

Raced mx at Norwalk once in '77 on a YZ400. Won the race but bent my handlebars clearing the double and landing with a splat.

I collect hodakas and belong to the Hodaka Club. The road toads aren't that desirable. Later model for Hodaka. Different engine than the earlier models. Went to primary kick and oil injection, and more weight. Chrome tank bikes are more sought after, led by the early super rats. Guys are racing...

Reminds me of the peat bog in the Blackwater 100, except the BW bog was much bigger. Buried my bike right to the seat.

The trails are pretty good. The ones in the woods are challenging, some rocky, rutted up hills and downhills, remind me of crow canyon. Also easy trails out around the open fields, what we called cowtrails back in the old days. Track is fun too. Mike Hawkins

Never could understand how they stayed open as long as they did. Every time I went in there, even on a Saturday, there was never more than a few people in the store. Most of the newer dealers don't stock much in the way of parts. The only ones that do are the old timers like Sills and Breyleys...
