Bike Days photo's

Very very Cool pics!
Do tell more!
The surface looks soft. Is that good or bad?
Is that track bigger than WR? Faster? bigger turns?
I see a few face plants. Is that normal? Is that from the soft track?

It's a 1/2 mile track with a crushed limestone surface. The corners looked soft in the center and seemed to develop small braking type bumps. If thats good or bad I don't know? They did drag and water it frequently. I've never been to WR (but I should) so I don't know how it compares.
Thankfully faceplants & such are not normal. I had a friend with me and we walked the track and I could definitely see some bumps in the middle of 1&2. I told him "if anyone go's down this is where it will happen" sure enough 10 min later the first guy went down. The speedway bike the rider just "low sided", might of lost the front end. All of them got right back on their feet un-injured or I never would have posted those shots.
I couple of the riders are posters here so hopefully they can answer better than me.
The races are still going on today for anyone looking for something to do.
I'm off to 330 now for the MX event.

Sharc, The corners get blown out, which creates a nice"cushion" on the outside which I love coming from an mx background! The insides are like cement. 1/2mile tracks are generally much wider than 1/4mile tracks such as westwern reserve. Face plants are not all that normal, but do happen! Most of those were the speedway bikes, which most generally never run on a 1/2 mile track. They are nuts! If you have a streetbike, ride on down to Western Reserve for a saturday night shorttrck (get in for free) and see some great racing! You are more than welcome to try my bike out! By the way, very nice photos Fox!!!

nice pics.
i race mx but have a raced a few flat tracks just for the fun of it and those faceplants look like they hurtt!!!!
