Not to jack your thread, sorry! But that's an idea, instead of a transponder on the bikes, that can be expensive to the track owner, and adds to the overall cost of the track, someone should come out with bar codes stickers for the bikes on the # plates and just have a scanner gun at the finish line. Sorry, back to your thread. Hey, I put it back on top.

Tracking software for a bar-code would be to expensive. To have an eye sensitive enough to read a bar code from a distance is where the cost comes from. Good initial thought though! I've been trying to devise a cheap automated scoring system as of late.
