Dave Katzmeyer?

Seems that I met this guy once at Briarcliff.
Our age, Columbus resident, Vintage KTM rider?

Last I heard, Dave has broken cheekbones, broken nose, a broken rib and a bruised lung.
He spent the night at Lima Hospital and was to see an ENT specialist sometime today.

The guy that landed on Dave, broke his wrist and may have had facial damage also.

I didn't see the accident but it sounds like it was simply that, an accident and it could
have happened anywhere. With the warm weather, there were more riders than usual
and some seemed a bit racier than normal.

My buddy's dad used to tell us "Think before you move."

Please think twice before you try to jump past someone and if you're slower
than the flow, be sure to stay off the faster line and hold that line, especially
on an indoor track where you have minimal run-off area...Common sense
goes a long way.

what about a split practice letting the A&B riders go out for a while then letting the C riders have at it?

Don’t know Dave but it sounds like he could good use some well wishes.
Thanks for the 411 Mosher – Let’s keep Dave in mind..

OMA usually do have a fast group go out, and then a slower group. They have done that the couple times we have been there this year.

First off hope Dave heals well.
Secondly I have always said hold your line, even if its the "fast" line. The more time you spend looking over your shoulder and moving out of the way the more of an unpredictable obstacle you become. Now if there is a slower line in a blind jump I may ride that line. If the faster guy behind me is that much faster he should be able to easily and safely make the pass. Never felt sketchy following this philosophy and really only have had one instance where super fast A guy was running staggered with us in th +30 class. He was well ahead and lapping guys in my class and the guys in his class were well behind. He attempted to pass me in a corner where he wanted the line I was in. Needless to say I was bigger and he lost the corner. He still won, but realized this wasn't a Supercross or a National.
I guess I am simply saying to the faster guys (and the ones who think they are) that you need to know your limits. Including who you are on the track with. No likes learning the hard way and we all have the same right to be out there. Sorry i'll stop...
