My Winter 2smoke project

This summer before college I was looking to pay some things off, so I sold my 2009 Kx450 and bought this MINT 2002 Cr250. Everything was stock except the bars.

I put threw on new tires, an 09' fender and # plate, new handlebars and then sent my suspension out to John Korea at East Coast Suspension (formerly MXTECH in Enon Valley, Pa.) ... I have to give a big shout out to John, he killed it because i'll tell you what, this 10 year old bike handles night and day better than most I have had, including my 05' yz 250. Now if we get talking about the motor, welllll thats a different story... It runs like a 125, if its not on the pipe, you're done. I did a few things that should help on low end.

I raced the bike twice, loved it, and broke my wrist. I knew i wouldn't be riding much, so thanks to Dominos Pizza in Slippery Rock and World of Wheels in Seneca, PA, i tore her down and did a full rebuild while healing up over the ****ty PA winter months. I started from a frame and bottom and heres what it got:

Black Rad MFG wheels, dunlop geomax mx-51 tires, pro taper sprocket kit (up 2 teeth in the rear), pro taper bars, msr quick adjust perch and black levers. Fmf Factory fatty pipe (for a 2003... they didn't make one for a 2002, even though the only difference is a different expansion chamber for more low end. THANK GOD FOR THAT), and power core 2 silencer.

I put some fresh gas with castor 927 premix in it yesterday, and it fired up the 3rd kick! I'm ready for the snow to melt so i can ride this thing!

Im not exactly sure how much it would total... i might cry if i add it up. i know its way too much to blow on a 2002 but i love 2strokes and i'm a huge fan of the way hondas handle. you could probably get it done for around 4k.. i plan on keeping it and adding on/ changing it continuously until it is just the sickest old 2stroke ever.

Nice bike! Brock Sellards has a NIIIIICE one for sale looks just like that one if anyone is looking for one, think he wants $3500.

To finish off the trick look you need some red andonized parts. Like the brake resevoir filler cap, oil cap, clutch cover and ignition cover. There are sweet carbon fiber parts from speed that would totally finish out the radness of the bike. And maybe some Red hoses and such.

Super sick bike for sure! Looks great.

Well i put a sunline shifter and gas vent breather on it yesterday. im going to get a few anodized parts from zeta when i get some more dough. also i had planned on clutch and ignition covers, until then i am just going to sandblast the stock ones so it looks factory.

Nice looking bike.

You guys are doing to the newer 2 strokes what us old guys are doing to the 70's & 80's 2 strokers for AMRMA racing.

Bet you had more fun building the bike than you ever imagined you would.

Premix....it is in the veins!

Ha no i don't get paid to go to college, just get paid from both of my jobs. I didn't ride for 5 months so I had some extra cash, might as well put it to something sweet.

Rode it today at hillsville, it was sick, i love the way the bike rides.

It is an 09 front fender and number plate. The front fender had two holes that lined up and then i had to drill two more. and then the cycra stadium front plate mostly zip ties on anyway, one more up top has it solid.

I might get a blue one and see how it looks on the yz. Definitely I think the newer Hondas are the sexiest looking.
