Yearly Spring MI ride with Rocket and friends!

Well, went up to join Rocket in MI this weekend and had a blast, as usual. 15 of us old guys running through the woods as fast as each can. A few high def. helmet vids of the weekend. Really had a good time on my YZ125. Wasn't sure how it was going to do in the sand, but it did just fine. 60 miles of trails day one and 50 more day two. Great seat time and sand prep for the upcoming LL regional at RedBud! Now, I'm one with my 125. Just need to get the 450 dialed in now.

This one, I'm chasing Rocket and miss a corner. Thank goodness the tree I hit was dead and just broke. Funny part, my eyes were fixed on the trees my front wheel almost hit.

Excuse the dust on this one, but as you can see....when you get close to Rocket, he throws a cloud of sand and dust in your fast, almost knocking you off your bike. Kind of like a skunk sprays you when you get to close!

Just a nice easy pace with Rocket through a really neat wooded trail.

Here, erk240 pushes hard on his just purchased KTM300, only to lose the front and have his good buddy Z-Man laugh at him...sorry brother, I can't help myslef.

Finally, Z-man was able to lead for a bit, avoid the dust, and stretch on the 125's legs, that is until I caught erk240 who lost a brake and hit a tree...Tell me again Eddie, how "hard" was the impact.

What towns were you guys near? Last year a group of us rode near wolverine. Seemed a little tighter and had some elevation change to it. Good footage.

Near Houghton Lake. Yeah not too much elevation, but lots and lots of tight corners and sand. Really a lot of fun and the seat time is incredible. Thanks

Good Stuff Zman, and great riding on the 125 chasing the Hussy all weekend!

We stay at a Hotel in Houghton Lake area, and then drive to Mich Cycle Conservation Club Trails (MCCCT) trails and park in their parking lots dedicated to trail loops. All you need is a Michigan ORV Sticker ($16.25 that are good from April 1 - March 31) and a Spark Arrestor Muffler. The trails are marked with arrow, maps, stop signs etc and almost all of the riding is sand, so it never really gets too muddy. Their are 3 relatively local trail systems within 1/2 hour of Houghton Lake and we ride those same three all the time. It's really a good time and great for becoming one with your bike when you make 1 million turns per day in the woods with trees as the obstacles that you are dodging, throw in sand whoops, roots, logs, rocks, occasional puddle and good friends and you can't have more fun.

We had 15 riders this time up and everyone had a great time.

Yes, Bantonic went and enjoyed all of the festivities including farm animal viewing. We could have used some rain, but what can you do?

They obviously havent had the rain that we have had around here. Used to Snowmobile in the Houghton Lake area. Probably alot of the same trails. We did most of our riding in the Waters area, north of Grayling, south of Gaylord. Great trails around that area too..
