The 2010 Competition Riders of America Outdoor Motocross Season is in the horizon with the warm spring sunshine days lighting the way to the gate drop. Winter time in N.E. Ohio is generally downtime for outdoor recreation and entertainment. This is the time of year we are patiently waiting; feverishly anticipating the warm season. We are dreaming about warm days full of sunshine and blue skies. We want to go outside and play!

Ohio and motorcycling are like peanut butter and jelly; they go hand in hand, they belong together. The first day above 45 with sunshine will be like a bear coming out of deep hibernation from the cold season looking for food; motorcyclists will be chowing down on the love of twisting the throttle, grinning ear to ear. You're smiling right now if you ride!

Sunday, March 28 is opening day for the CRA Outdoor MX Season being held at Malvern Racing in Waynesburg, Oh; about 40 minutes south of Akron off of Rt. 183. Check out the races at $10 a person for a day full of fun with family and friends. You can find more information at www.racemalvern.com Malvern Racing has teamed up with Kames Sports and Bairs Polaris/Victory providing two MX Cchampionships for the riders. Kames Malvern Motocross Championship is the premiere series where riders will compete in twelve rounds. Bair's Polaris/Victory Women's MX Championship is a five round series just for women. Riders from 5 years of age to 65 will be racing their way to victory in a sport that demands passion, fitness and clear thinking. We will also be giving away prizes to spectators only with a trivia game at nearly all Malvern events. We will also have relay races, pit bike races, UTV races, 3-Wheeler races, and 4 ft. trophy races at selected events. You might have your picture taken by Rich from www.mxfreakspix.com, just a man who loves going to the races and loves taking pictures, good ones too.

Recently in attendance at the annual Summit Indoor Mx races in Akron, the Lord showed me something. During intermission at Summit, about 100 kids were running around the track playing with each other; they were joyous. Wondering what the world will be like for these children when they grow up. Thinking these kids don't understand the kids of things that happen in this world; how can/do we protect and guide these children? I learned we have to fight for what we love. We must fight the war against terrorism for freedom, the economy for jobs to make provision for a good life, to feed the starving around the world to save lives, to give supplies for aid in relief of the lives affected by war or natural disaster and all of the above. These truths have put a lump in my throat for different reasons at different times.

Fighting doesn't always mean some sort of physical combat, but always includes conflict, effort, and sacrifice. Fighting means caring about what is going on around you, finding ways to help and serve each other. Fighting means working together through the good and bad times. Fighting means spending time with ones you love and telling the truth. We must fight the good fight. If you can fight like this, you will have far more victory in your life than getting first place. How are Malvern Racing, Ohio International Raceway, Kames Sports and Bairs Polaris/Victory fighting? We are working together to provide a safe, caring, loving family environment of sport, recreation and entertainment for all of you in the form of motocross racing. We love motocross, we love riding and we want to share this love with you because we believe you may love it too if you gave motocross and the people involved a chance.

Riding is not a one person sport of form of recreation, it is something we do together, something we love doing together, and is something that isn't possible without the help of others. Malvern Racing has nineteen events on the calender this year, mostly Saturdays. Ohio International Raceway has seven events this year, all Sundays; located in Ravenna, Oh about 25 minutes east of Akron at $10 per person for a day full of fun. You can find more information about OIR at www.handracing.com. OUt of about 35 tracks, Malvern and OIR are cornerstones in Northeast Ohio Motocross. Both tracks have great places to watch races; very spectator friendly. Motocross is a family sport and is easy to make friends at the track. Motocross teaches you to get back up and try again, because you will fall down just like life. No matter how old you are, you're never to old to learn or observe this lesson.
