Repeal 22nd Admendment

John250

PR Founding Father
Rep Jose Serrano (D - NY), put a bill out there to repeal the 22nd admendment of the Constitution again. This would allow a president to serve more than 2 terms. While he has done this three other times, the bill has never left the floor. But here is the scary part. The American people vote for guys like Obama for a second term. How long will it be before they also put liberal representatives in office that decide that this is a good idea. And lets remember, there are some crazy republicans that would sit back, and say...hey this could help us too. Time to clean house in DC.

You understand that passing a bill to repeal an amendment to the constitution does not repeal the amendment, right?
See "Equal rights Amendment", passed by congress in 1972 but never ratified because of religious lobbying. A shameful
historical note.

As much as I agree with you on almost everything, it is my understanding that fortunately this is nothing new. It seems that this has been proposed many, many times, and not just in this presidency. But I agree, with so many wackos voting now, who knows what's coming next. The US wanted change, well, we're getting it whether anyone reads the fine print or not.....too many idiots in the world!
