TVland's GP today!

I know there is a topic on race updates but really I think another one is due for mx/sx general.

Trevor put on one BA GP event! Track was awesome. He listens to riders, majority spoke on a section that would of gotten to be a soupy mess and he cut it out. I didn't think it was that bad, but now that I see how ripped up the creek crossings got I'm sure that section would have been wicked!

So, anyway.....to cut to the chase, like I've always said: This is one of the funnest events of the year, i'm upset that turnouts aren't all that great. I doubt the guy made a nickel today. There should be 500 riders that show up for that event. It's AWESOME!!

To sum it up: Tvland is the Briarcliff of Grand Prix events. I hope Trevor will have one next year, but these awesome GP events aren't going to be happening if people aren't showing up. If you've never done one, you should.

ditto! And that front section would not have been good for that pretty 125 of yours. I think 50% would still be sitting in that area, good call Trevor! How did little Zman end up today? I know big Zman had fun today chasing him around on his pitbike.

Speaking of the little guys....my brother came back to the truck and he looks at my dad and I and he says: "Ya know, maybe i'm a harescrambler type." We both laughed, because he did good, he ended up 2nd. And he went on to say....."yeah you (me) and dad are the motocross guys, I think i'm a woods guy."

Heck my dad doesn't mind much! We were home by 2pm and he was out on the harley by 3pm. That never happens after a MX race day!

I updated the other post in the race forum first...so just copied it all down to this one as well.

Mitchy had a blast. We got there just in time to watch Hudak and Georgie burn laps around the joint. Below was his face when he saw how muddy you guys were after your hot lap and when I not only told him, but showed him, how he had to run to his bike, start it himself, navigate over rocks, ruts, a bottomless mulch pile, roots, mud holes, logs, truck tires...and still ride the MX tracks. He ended up 3rd in the Junior Mini..small class, had some spills in the woods as the slippery tree roots were new to him. Also that tire jump ate him up.

He was the only 65 there...was hoping there would have been some others, but he had a blast running with the 85's. No complaints and said he wants to do it again. He put 41 mins of video on his GoPro..still sorting through that. Great training for his Loretta Lynn return in 2 months. As far me, that was the most riding I have done since last year at Lorettas...burned the wheels off that TTR110 chasing him around and had to wash 2 bikes when we got home. Great day and a first time experience for Z-Boy! Maybe he is gonna bag MX and move it into the woods...who knows. For now..I'm letting him enjoy any and all that has to do with these bikes.

That tire obstacle is tricky. Gotta ride the rear wheel over the entire thing then let the front drop level once you're over the top.

First time through I tried just woppin that thing. Got slightly airborne, my rear wheel caught and my front wheel took a dive for the dirt. Thought I was otb for sure. I found out a lot of the tricky obstacles you needed to go slow through to be fast.

Exactly what Mitchy did.. Too fast over it, rear tire kicked and over the bars he went!

I did it the old man way. Rode up just fast enough to stop on top with both feet on
top of the tire, then teetered off with my weight way back. Never had a problem. If
there was anybody fast behind me, I'll bet they didn't like it though.

LOL! Wish I could of talked to you, didn't know you were there. Heck I thought you only ruffle feathers with your political talk and didn't really have a bike!

Ditto.

Next time you see a bearded old man with a 16 year old in tow, might be me.

What a blast yesterday! Layout was one of the best yet. We gotta get more people out to these, it is a great time and really something different to test all your skills.

I don't know what Trev could do to get more people but let him know what would get you out there next time(besides a cattle prod)! We gotta keep this race alive.

So who has go pro vids or pics? Let's see 'em!

This weekend's harescramble will be similar but more woods I´am told. Get ready for 2hrs of fun!

I might just slap on some new treads on the 1-2-5 pinger and really give myself a workout and try it out.

Bout how long does a 2.1 gallon tank last in a 2 hour race? LOL.

Not sure on the 125, but I stopped Mitchy to gas him up at the 15 minute mark of the GP..good thing I did. His 65 would have never made it 41 minutes...little tank on that rig.

Georgie I see that Trevor cut out the ditch crossings, that was half the battle. I was going to race the second race until I hit the dirt and tweaked up my bars on the second to the last lap.

Yea, both the double crossing out near the road and the one coming out of the
woods were bypassed for the 2 oclock race. Much easier.

I saw that on the video. I dreaded those three crossings every lap. I would of ran the 2nd race if I would if known they were scrapping those sections.

I wanna say I was damn near close to gas tank deep in water the one crossing. Then one boob at the end of the race crashed in the best line over the last crossing. They were waving me to the deep shithole and I just screamed get the hell out of the good line and torched that crossing about 6 inches from him. I hope I soaked him. Lol. Almost went over the bars. Wheelied to a dead stop and the handlebars jabbed me hard in the hips. Feet off the pegs WFO PINGTINGTIIIIIIWIWIWIWIWWIWIWIWIWIWNG THE 125 through it. All she had.
