$793,060 for one race. How much did you make?

Fact time again... This year they will be 7436 riders competing at the various LL regionals around the country. To get to that point we the MX family will have already sent $371,800 to the Coombs family in qualifier and regional fees... and they have not lifted a finger yet.
Then, those luck souls that make it to the "National" will contribute another $205,320 in Sign-up and $215,940 for entry fees... bringing us to a total of $793,060 FOR ONE RACE. of course that is not to mention all the money coming for the various sponsors, venders, Golf cart fees (That right there is enough to retire on).

If I sound jealous, that's because I am...

Now add the money from the GNCC series, tickets to Mt. Morris what were they $25 x 21,000 people = $525,000, the Promoters group, Racer X mag and on and on....

Tax records show Rita and Davy made 2.5 to 5 million selling magazines alone... Tim Cotter and Kerri Russell (Kerri and her husband own Sunday Creek, just so you know why they get a regional, Kerri is a Coombs) they made 500K to 1 million.

Now, I'm no tax expert, but ... I'm just saying, those are just numbers anyone can find on the interweb.

Just food for thought the next time you think about going to a Dark side event.

Chris, you forgot about all the money the Coombs family made off the Daytona Amateur Supercross the last 4 years. Used to be limited numbers of entries, and that went away after year one.

From what I hear, Sunday Creek was a hell hole for a qualifier and they did not even have the proper equipment to maintain the track. Guess that explains why they get a regional and a GNCC race every single year.

C'mon guys, you are obviously horribly mistaken. RacerX doesn't cover quads, LL Amateur Nationals don't have quads, and we all know that anything to do with MX simply cannot survive without quads. You know, their money is just as green as the bike riders money!!

Oh wait....there are quads at the GNCC's.....that must make up for all the losses the other races and the magazine incur. Thank you quads for being at the GNCC's to keep our other races alive!

Once a douche bag....always a douche bag.

Right on John, don't let the man keep you down. Braaaaap.

This guy is winning the potstirrer award for 2013 hands down. I officially am throwing the towel in.

Wait...wait...there's more!

How many spectators blast through a pro event, buy event t-shirts.....hot dogs.....Monsters/Red Bulls.......How many Buy $150 VIP tickets for a mediocre crappy buffet and some canned bud light....Those tents are PACKED. All for us to watch people pay to race in front of us. Could you imagine if the NFL made the players pay to get on the field? Then force them to run suicides down the field as practice before the game? There wouldn't be an NFL, that's for sure.

....They make privateers PAY to race. Force them to ride a terrible B practice, while they give factory boys the A practice and nice SMOOOOOTH groomed track. Our pro riders might as well be moto-slaves. They work for nothing, they don't even make Minimum wage. They just keep funneling the cash into the big mx sports piggy bank. Oink Oink.

I wish they'd form a riders union and set on the gate. There would be about 8-12 guys into the first turn. and 30-32 sitting on the gate to boycott it.

Oh how angry the Television and event sponsors would be......

Also because of live T.V. the riders only have about 45 minutes to recover for the next moto. They now have to be lined up in staging while the other moto is still on the track. Hi five to MXSports for keeping safety in mind!

We tried the Union thing back in the late 80's and early 90's, it almost worked. BUT. it takes competition for that to work. There has to be another organization promoting moto/supercross to give some leverage to the riders. Without that you end up with exactly what happened with NASCAR. They know they are the only show in town so why bother sharing the wealth. If 30 guys on the gate do not take off and you are left with just the factory and mega teams what would happen? Nothing. Who got 24 in the second 450 moto at Muddy creek? No one knows.. and if Billy Bob does not race, MXSports/AMA/Feld knows they can replace him with Jimmy and not a single person in the crowd will know.

I forgot a big $ maker for Satan and Son, You know they are getting a BIG kick back from the transponder company. Got to have one to race. Add another $40 per bike.

They should still do it. What are they getting out of the race anyway? Roll the start....sit in single file off to the side of the course in a safe spot. Wait for the entire race.....then finish. They'll still get there 200 bucks or whatever and off to the next one......just do it the whole series.

They can't fill the gate with that many alternates. These guys are qualifying in practice....how many are trying to qualify.....can't be 80 is there?

Just like the famous racer Andrew Fountain once said "You never do the math in Motocross" or you'd quit instantly. People are getting rich and it's not us. So what. Ride your bike and pay your fees. Nothing anyone can do about it and it doesn't really matter anyway.
