A few things to think about for this weekend

With this weekend being one of the biggest races of the year in the great state of Ohio, I thought a few reminders and suggestion may help promote our sport.
1. Make sure you are always in sponsor clothes. Im sure there will be millions of pictures taken and videos posted on every site there is. Being caught in a picture wearing a pit shirt or hat with your sponsors logo may help you out next year when you go begging for free stuff.
2. If you are lucky enough to be interviewed, make sure you rep your sponsors. Remember its a BIG show.
3. Invite your sponsors and shops you buy from. Having them there to see all those potential customers my help open their wallets to you and others. Heck, pay their gate fee to get in. A $10 investment may multiply a 100 times.
4. When you check in to your hotel, tell them you are in town to race. Next year you may see Holiday Inn on the sponsor list.
5. Buy something from the vendors at the track. Remember, they invested in our sport, Help pay them back.
6. If you go out to eat in town, Tell the manager why your in-town.
7. Check the list of current sponsors and stop by their business. And if you buy something, tell them its because hey supported the greatest sport in the world.
8. Thank a track official.
9. Take a yellow flagger a cold drink. They are out in the heat to help protect your sorry butt. The least you could do is offer them a cold Coke.

feel free to add to the list.
Anything to help our sport is always a good thing.

At a bare minimum, at least email your sponsors and let them know about the series, and the classes you will be competing in. They may send you some stuff once they hear how big it is.

Have sponsors? There is a spot for that on your sign up sheet!

Better yet, type out a list of your sponsors, your name and bike # and give it to the ladies at sign up EARLY on Saturday! They are guaranteed to be listed then for the race event!! (If we don't receive them til Sunday morning, we cannot guarantee they will be added by race time.)

The OMA is unique in that it maintains a current database of sponsors, so if you have already given us your sponsors this year - they are ready to go for racing and in the computer!
