Went on carnival victory cruise to bahamas in september and had a blast. It was my first cruise. I've done several all inclusives. If you've never done that, those are great and I recommend apple..and have a great travel agent you can work with (its joe rice's aunt)

Anyhow the cruise I went to nasssau, half moon cay, and grand turk.

the beach at half moon cay was the best beach ive ever been on.nassau was fun, but the whole day we spent at atlantis (waterpark) was cool, to do once..not sure id spend $200 on that again though.

anyhow the food on the cruise is good.. you can buy drink packages for like $50 a day per person (both ppl have to get the package in the room)

you still limit like 10 drinks per day, but in the long run it saves you money doing that.

entertainment is good, lots to do on a cruise. thats what i liked vs the all inclusive.. i get bored sitting on a beach after an hour. The cruise was non stop entertainment of some sort.

I'm looking forward to doing another one asap. We left out of miami. Saved some money by flying into for lauderdale and hopping on the train to go to miami.

Flamenco.jpg I did a cruise a few years back, not my cup of tea. Too rushed for what I like in a vacation. Now the beach thingy.... Go to Culebra Island in Puerto Rico. Flemenco beach is often rated number one in the caribbean for good reason. The people are super friendly, no passport required for us and its super cheap!! But I like quiet low key vacations. I can go drink and party at home if I want, Im not spending my vacation doing that.

24ft waves, over half the people on the boat throwing up including some of the staff. A 10x10 room to go back and relax in. Port of call cancelled do to rough seas. The pool deck looked like a freaking Mash unit with everyone laying out with there sheets, pillows, and puke buckets! I highly recommend a cruise, if you like gambling with your vacation!

Culebra beach rentals, google it and call them. There is about 2o units on the beach thats it, not a resort just a bunch of villas.

We already booked our stay for spring break!! It will be my 5th time there.

Ferry, its more fun. We drive across the main island to Fajardo and take the ferry. Its a beautiful island, you drive by the only rain forest in the caribbean. One time we are going to stop for a day.

I have been on 5 cruises and have enjoyed everyone of them, some more than others but it's all what you make of it. I recommend a couple things: 1st of all I would try to get on a very large ship, the larger they are the larger the stabilizers and less likely for the ship to be tossed around. Secondly, the newer the ship the nicer the amenities and typically the latest extra's for your entertainment. I've done both Royal Caribbean and Carnival and feel that the Royal Caribbean ships have better service, food and ships but if you are looking to party then Carnival would be a better fit. Also, base your trip around what you want to do, do you want a different destination everyday or do you want to be at sea most of the time, you can look at each ships daily itinerary and decide what cruise fits you best. If you want to do excursions do your own research and book your own a head of time. You will end up with a better experience, usually way small groups of people and a more personal tour. I also recommend doing at least 7 nights because the short cruises are the cheaper ones where they use the older smaller ships, with less amenities, crappier stops/islands and the service isn't as good. Also, if your not claustrophobic get an inside room or one down a couple levels, that can save you money because your typically not in your room other than to sleep, anyway. However, if you don't mind spending the money then, I highly recommend getting a room with a balcony. Also, If you are a drinker, I do recommend getting the drink package, it will save you a fortune. I can understand going to an island and plopping you arse down but do that after you have done a cruise and checked out some islands and then go back on a later vacation to your favorite. The other thing is when the ship comes into a port that your not that interested in or you don't want to run your arse off all day exploring the island then stay on the ship and you will have it all to yourself. If you want to know any of my favorite islands just ask and I will share with you my favorites and why and some of the beaches look just like the pics in Hershies post above.

Interesting you bring up Culebra. I have a friend form HS that at 35 retired, moved there, and never came back - he, like me, is now 50. If you ever bump into a tall guy named Mike that likes the Browns and drinking a lot that's him. One of my best friends owns 2 properties there, one is 5 acres on the beach, and he plans to build a custom home. We were supposed to go last year and a hurricane came through.

Went on a carnival cruise and felt like I was on the east side watching everyone dress up with feathers polka dot dresses and pump canes drinking syzerp. Worst experience of my life. Go on one of the better cruise lines. Avoid the riff rad. Never knew those direct deposit welfare cards worked on the high seas until that trip!

Well you said it not me but that is some of the problem and I feel with that cruise line. Thats also why, I say go on a newer ship, that is at least 7 days or more because the cost eliminates almost all of the riffraff. I find that most of the time when people don't enjoy cruises is because they do a short 4 dayer or so, on a shitty ship and its not enjoyable, I get it.
