So Brock Wagner and another guy are in front of my son in schoolboy 1 today. Brock jumps the finish line jump and upon landing his wheel explodes. I've never seen a wheel blow like this one.

Every time I attend a arenacross, people amaze me. There are just some things you don't need at an arenacross, so I am going to give you some suggestions.

    1. Gas cans. Put a 1/2 a tank of fuels in that bike, and I promise you that you won't need to take a gas can, nor fill up in between heats.
    20180107_101405_001.jpg

    2. When setting up your pit inside....the easy up is not necessary. I promise you won't get rained on, nor sun burnt. Your taking up way too much space. Have a little curtousy there are alot of people that want to pit inside out of the cold. Oh, and the $2000 tool chest you wheeled in too...yeah, bring about three or 4 wrenches you might need in inside your gear bag. That truck outside is not that far if you need something else.
    20180107_070625.jpg

    3. Tires. Are you really going to change some Tires? I promise the track conditions are not going to change at all. Oh, and leave that tire changing stand in the trailer too. Save your self some work bringing that sucker in.
    20180107_104123.jpg

    4. Put bikes. Yep....leave them home too. You don't need two of them in the pits, that pesky security guy will bust you riding it in the hallway.
    20180107_104103.jpg

    5. You really don't need to show everyone your a pack rat at the races....damn, that's alot of crap for a few quick heats. Clean up your mess.
    20180107_104023.jpg

    6. And this one is for the arena venue. Most of the guys coming off the track have wrist bands. And if they have a helmet and gear on, they probably are not sneaking into the track. Damn, give a guy a badge on his shirt, a walkie talky and head set, and he becomes a Nazi. Hire some people with some freaking common sense and a bit friendlier. 20180107_103812.jpg

Now for all that negative....some positive. The National Arenacross staff does a great job. They run the races on time. They keep them moving. The ladies in registration do a great job also. And all of their staff from the ladies in registration to guys in staging and the ones at the track were all super friendly and do a great job really.

Just another day at the races on a cold winter day.

Hey that’s the cheap way to trash a wheel. Spokes and $120 rim back at it.

alrighty John250 i agree with you in some aspects, however.....

"2. When setting up your pit inside....the easy up is not necessary. I promise you won't get rained on, nor sun burnt. Your taking up way too much space. Its not that far outside however if you have an emergency its nice to have spare parts and tools at your disposal right away instead of running back and forth. Trust me i have been ther.

"3. Tires. Are you really going to change some Tires? I promise the track conditions are not going to change at all. Oh, and leave that tire changing stand in the trailer too. Save your self some work bringing that sucker in."

Your pic is of a pro riders bike, so yea he may change tires based on track conditions. They may not change but they could be different than what he expected it was gonna be.

Get used to it if you plan on doing any other areancross races bc its the same everytime, very frustrating. But at same time someone could show up in riding gear, come inside without getting checked, and walk outside with a bike no questions asked just because they are in riding gear.

This was my first arenacross and I really enjoyed it. They flew through the heats and LCQ’s I’m sure the mains were the same story but I got ate up in the whoops in my LCQ (lol). Had fun, missed my transfer by one spot. Overall had a great weekend. Catapult looked big and far on the track walk, jumped it all day with no problem threw you up there perfect. Wish the next east coast round was closer. Thanks to the whole crew. Registration on Saturday took me all of 3 mins and it was the first time I’ve done an AMA event since 2005.

MMR....A lot of my post is joking, but serious too. I have raced a lot of Arenacross in my life. Bike, gear bad with a few essentials, folding chair, and small soft sided cooler, and I've been good. These guys that truck in the garage with them just crack me up.

And by the way, the tire changer stand guy was last year in Cincinnati, where there was way less space, and he was an amateur. That thing sat there all day with a couple tires and never got used. A few of us cracked on that guy last year.

There’s a picture on Arenacross Instagram of Wagner stuffing that other KTM kid he battled with all day and by the looks of it the peg is in Wagner’s wheel which i would assume is what ripped that rear wheel that way.

Wow. A peg? I just assumed when I saw him on the ground the other guy went down with him when the wheel let go. Hard to believe a peg would wipe out the spokes on both sides. That's crazy.

Probably wiped out 2-5 spokes. Then that catapult landing finished the job....
