Saw that the Honda 450 is 11,500. But the yz250 is 7500.

Hard to believe that anyone would buy a 450. I mean 4K difference in price. And most of us are just riding to have fun and race once in a while. The cost to maintain the 2 stroke is far less. It just seems like a no brainer.

Who wants to buy a 2018 Yamaha YZ 250F? Great condition, raced one season. Let me know if interested.

KTM Fi two strokes are coming, the factory bikes have them so I was honestly expecting something this year. Good point though Toddco, YZ250 is pretty refined as is KTM is just now catching up in terms of a full package (motor, suspension, chassis etc. if you ask me.

That 85 is gonna be a rocket ship. That’s the only thing they were missing was a power valve. I bet those things really put a hurting on the rm85s now. That bike will be snappy off the bottom and still pull the mail all the way at the top.

Yamaha 85s always were monsters on the top end it was a pain in the ass to get them and keep Them there. Kids gonna love these machines.

You people crack me up. Please explain your math on maintaining 2 vs 4 stroke ?
Day to day maintenance on a 4 stroke isn’t that much more if not even when you factor in 2 stroke oil.
2014 YZ450F 101hrs, valves in spec , no topend change , 4 sets of clutches , 20 races and bike ran perfectly the day I sold it.
2015 YZ450F 115hrs, valves in spec , 2 clutches, 5 races , no topend change and zero issues.
2016 YZ450F 97hrs same story as above.

My 2006 YZ450F had almost 200hrs on the originally topend. Valves were always in spec and the bike always started first or second kick.

I have always religiously changed my oil and air filters which helps with any bike.

Plus NO ONE is faster on a 2 stroke. Sure 2 strokes are fun and appealing but almost everyone I know (including myself) that bought one recently were back on a 4 stroke in no time.
