Honda I'm sure has a study that will tell you why 1 muffler is better than 2 this year! But next year, they will have a new study to show you why 2 mufflers is better than 1 next year!
Personally, I'd like to think I can lay it over on at least one side without fear that the muffler's bent into the wheel range of motion and going to get all marked up on the tire if I keep racing! With dual mufflers, both sides are always a danger.
