It’s time. No more East, West

250 West is so weak it’s embarrassing. Nearly every race they lap well into the top 10. This week only 28 riders even showed up. As it turns out, only five should have showed up.
One national class makes sense all the way around. Saves teams money, Makes the racing better for the fans. Same as outdoors. Full gates.
Develop a breeder series as a real “Pro-Am” series for those guys clearly not ready for the big show. They can be a filler race. Plenty of open time in the night program.

I am watching the race now. Crazy. 13 riders in the 2nd heat race. Thats ridiculous. Time to get rid of the east and west for sure.

And as Chris mentioned the level of competition between the top 3 and everyone else is a joke.

I dunno...

DO you really think a 250 privateer can make all the races and/or there are enough factory supported teams to make a 40 rider night show? Guessing we cannpt gauge totally off this year as things are still affected by covid. Heck, if I want a new KTM 50 jr., it'll be July at the earliest just due to the simple fact there's not enough resources for the factories to build them. It was surprising that the field was down to where it was, but when you have a race in BFE somewhat, it's the end of the series in that it means nothing for some to compete, why stress the budget?....

Well they need time to develop otherwise They gonna be getting hurt go on 17 rounds, gotta literally only race these guys eight or nine rounds otherwise you’re gonna kill them

The factory supported guys will be at every round. Then there will be fill in guys at all the rounds that are not racing for points any way. Having a East coast round in St Lake was just plain stupid.

The only reason this was so terrible for the 250 is because the east coast privateers are traveling to SLC. Had nothing to do with low rider numbers and everything to do with cost. And that's exactly we still need the split. Riders jumping into pro racing need a way to do it easily and inexpensive. Asking a privateer starting out to do 17 rounds is bad enough let alone driving all over the country.

The factories and support teams will be at all the rounds. You would have gate filers show up that are not running all the races. The talent pool is not deep enough for east and west in my opinion.

450 SX 17 rounds
250 SX 17 rounds
125 East/West Regional feeder class setup as "125 A/B All Stars" to help progress newbies that first earn enough points out of SX Futures.
Great Idea. Hell shorten up the LCQ. There is time to add a shortened 125 east/west regional race to the program.

The nationals don't have to show all 4 motos live at the same time either. SX TV schedules won't allow your idea.
I call BS. There is plenty of wasted time in that broadcast to show a 10 minute 125 main event. Race the heats during the day.

Maybe if they cut out 450 more tons of dirt to save another dollar the lap times will shrink down to 37 seconds and they can run the all stars without losing tv time.

They can do whatever to make the tv schedule work, it's not like they are selling big money commercial time slots to pay for everything.
Add the 125 class, do a pro am and the 450 class and be done with it.

On top of the guys who aren't factory supported trying to get to races, it's the scheduling and mapping out of the races that screws things up as well. If they had a schedule that made sense geographically and weather wise, and built it around that, it would be easier on everyone and save lots of money on the travel part of things. Going across the country and back a few times during the season doesn't help anyone including the factories and their big rigs. Same goes for the Nationals, layout a schedule that moves along and it would save everyone a lot of money in travel costs. Just another wrinkle to throw in to the mix.
