Seeing pic's like this just never gets old. (nabbed from facebook)

Decoster- Honda Hills 1974 Trans-AMA.................... great pic!
For 1974, that Suzuki was pretty tricked out.

If the Decoster photos are dated correctly which I think they are notice the updated gastank, expasion chamber-down to up location, and the leading axle forks.

Maico had the Japanese scrambling.

Love the gear from back in the early 70's. Simple and functional, not the flashy stuff of today that looks like a cat puked on it.

I always cracked up at the people that say Maico copied Honda, when the exact opposite was true!

Jim Scaysbrook at Mid-Ohio. Two DNFs and a sore butt.

Look how much he's over gripped with the throttle hand. It's no surprise Pomeroy was such a dominate competitor.
I don't know what it is that makes the Bultaco look like such a compact, yet brute, machine on the track? Even the rear tire looks big.

This thumbs up, cross up, GP winning hero was a big inspiration for at least Ohio teenager back in 1973. And it was great to say "Hi" to him at AHRMA Mid-Ohio decades later.
