Arlan M. “Lucky” Vines, 83, of Pierpont, passed away Monday July 3, 2023 at Andover Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born April 7, 1940 in Oneonta, AL, the son of Woodrow and Opal (Butts) Vines.

Arlan served in the US Airforce. He worked for Bob Holl’s SOHIO gas station. He then went to work for Koski Construction, retiring after 25 plus years. After he retired, he went to work for the Ashtabula County Water Department for ten years.

He loved his Shelby Mustang and would take it to Thompson drag raceway, car shows down at the lake, he also raced dirt bikes in his 50’s and 60’s. Everyone loved his witty sense of humor and big smile. He had a great mechanical ability and enjoyed sharing his knowledge. Arlan helped his son Trevor with TV Land motocross in Pierpont.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Connie (Fortune) whom he married on January 22, 1972; son Trevor (Clorice); and daughter Stephanie; grandchildren, Tyler (Amber), Cameron, Braydon and Zoe, step grandchildren, Taylor, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Ella and Cali.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Helfer and a niece Tonya Fultz.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shiners Hospital, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA, 16505.

The arrangements have been entrusted to the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
