Thanks, I wouldn't say strong. The mental side of these races is something rarely talked about. We tried our best to work on that side for him, it's where he could make the most improvement. There were a handful of kids between his 2 classes that ended up top 10 that he ran with and beat in qualifiers. His practice times were right there but his confidence on the line wasn't. Im.proud of the kid, he worked hard for it and really crushed it at Ironman. Compared to last winter at Mini Os, you wouldnt believe it's the same kid. We're taking a break to relax and reset, he says he wants to go back next year in school boy 1 and 125 b/c. If he wants to, he will make it again I have no doubt.

It is amazing the work, dedication and stress involved in making this race. The hours of working out, training, driving, bike maintenance and cooperation from the family required to make it to LL. I love MX and being at the track. Working on bikes is something I enjoy as well. But I'm honestly worn out. I'm glad it's over this year. The family is too. Mom did a ton of support, motivation and cooking. At 15, he was burning 4700 calories a day when in full training mode. That's another nobody talks about. We learned the hard after him getting tired all the time. A 2000 calorie deficit doesn't work.

And this is just the main stuff. Mx really is the most demanding sport. And the most fulfilling

What’s amazing is how much money the Coombs family is making off of all of this. How disgusting!!!! Smh!!!

I’m not comparing it to other sports!!! No where in that statement did I compare it to other sports! I did get a kick out of the fact that the family that got into a fight was apparently a domestic in family thing. The ama official immediately disqualified the rider but the family is apparently friends with Carrie Jo Coombs. Who then over ruled the ama and had the kid reinstated. Bahaha what a joke. The crooked Coombs family. Has a nice ring to it. So glad none of my kids got into the sport.

My only reason for comparison is to point out it isn't as expensive as most other sports at the elite level. You could be spending more for less. Who cares how much money they are making ?

Vote with your money, if you dont like how much they make, dont go. You've voted! Personally I think they charge a little too much but I also think you won't find anything else with as much value.

Yes, the entire experience.

My son qualified through the hardest regional by earning it. Hard work, getting up at 5am during school to workout. Training and racing as much as possible for 6 months. Learned a life lesson about reaching goals through hard work. Being one of the fastest 42 kids in his class. At 15 years old, that lesson is priceless.

Spent countless hours with him only a few years before he is an adult and I dont see him near as much. Priceless

At the ranch, a ton of fun things to do. Look at all the special events during the week that are all free.

Meeting past and present champions of the sport. Had a long talk with Brock Glover in staging. Talked to Kevin Windham at the gate a couple times. Sexton was there, Malcolm Stewart too. I talked with RV while he was waiting to lead the parade lap for practice. No place else are you going to get these opportunities in one place.

The creek is fantastic, cold and refreshing, another place to meet and talk with people interested in the same sport you are. Spent many hours there. What other tracks do you go to that has this?

The racing is 2nd to none. You're at the largest racing event there is. All the fastest and most exciting racers to watch. You, a friend or a family member has worked for and is one of the best amateur racers in the country. Watching is great, participating is even better. The track prep is 2nd to none, it's rough, rutted, tacky and challenging. 90+ heat all week and no dust.

All the manufacturers are there. We had bike issues before moto 1. Went to the Gas Gas tent. They evaluated the issue and resolved it by giving us an entire engine for free. After looking at and working on the bike 3 times, they charged us nothing. All free. You dont get that at the normal races.

So yes, there is a maximal amount of value for the money we spent for thst experience. Wouldn't change it. Everyone has different feelings on why they go, for me these are why it was well worth it.

the hard work little man put in was noticed. Seemed like as soon as he got that 250 last year and raced Chillitown he has been on a roll and found something. I was super impressed watching him at ctown I believe first race on a 250.Smooth and technical riding style that 250 really suites him. Going to do great and keep getting faster. B class is calling his name now after minios

Had the same experience at mini os with a Yamaha supermini. Replaced engine. No charge. Wild.

And guess what I got a garage full
Of Yamahas to this day. They are investing in their customers at thst level because they know we keep em a float. They’ll get their money back….

There is absolutely tremendous value at these big races. There’s positives everywhere if you look. Carlisle you’re just jaded and default to negative. That’s gotta be an awful way to live consistently.

So that’s priceless? 1of 42? That’s including only the riders in his class that wanted to try Loretta’s! Sorry to tell you there’s lots of riders (jon16) for an example who could care less about Loretta’s that are very good riders that just love to ride! You got your engine replaced! Well yeah they don’t want to look bad cause you had an engine problem, that’s on you! No reason to have an engine problem unless their equipment is junk or you did something wrong! You met past champions or great riders! Wow I can do that at any autograph signing! We met and talked to Travis pastrana! Does that make it priceless? For thousands of dollars I would say….. lol. Keep doing it. You’re not in the top 5 no one cares!!!! Keep spending your hard earned money on lessons that this generation doesn’t understand!!! What lesson was learned? That your son didn’t work or train hard enough? Or that money grows on trees? Or he just doesn’t have it? I love this topic. Excuses why Loretta’s is worth the money!!!!
