Anybody ever gone to the SX final in Vegas?

Is it worth it?

I've talked about doing it for years, seems like this one could come down to the wire. Thinking about flying out Friday, coming home late Sunday. I have points for a free hotel in a nice place for the whole time, just need airfare and feed myself, plus tickets and shopping, and a little gambling, of course.

Thoughts?
 
If there's a year to go, it's this year Chris. My wife and I were out there a few years ago in 07. Its allways a good time in vegas. this year should be awsome with the lights format, and the 450's should be standing the whole race.
If only you had a cheap flight out there you would be set. HaHa
 
im head n out to it cant wait we just got tickets last week 192 a seat for race we had i think 640 a person in flight and hotel
 
What I've found so far is workable (>$600), just gotta wait for our other pilot (my "manager") to get back from his vacation to confirm it's OK to go, then make the arrangements. My wife is pushing me to go do it, so that's covered. Still would end up being a grand or so, but what an trip! on the other side of the coin, we're closing on a house here the week before, and it's taking all of the available cash.
 
Its a tuff call but when your old you only remember the things you wish you would have done lol. Go for it man this is one of the best years ever and you know its going to come down to that last round. You can always make more money.
 
bookd all my stuff way in advance..flight was like 350 and sx ticket like 85... ill be there wed eve - sun eve..staying at planet hollywood not sure how much $ its coming out to per person tho
 
Might want to make sure tickets for the race arent sold out. From what I hear they are sold out. I could be wrong tho.
 
Good thought, just tried and couldn't get any on the website. If I'm able to do it, will have to try to score one elsewhere.
 
went to 2006 Vegas SX when it can down to Carmichael, Stewart, and Reed......Had a blast.......The up side was that Scott USA (Scott Sports now) paid every penny thanks to Bevo Forte. Had a blast and would recommend going!!!!
 
You can always get tix there for around $100 a ticket from scalpers. Check ebay and craigslist too. I have been out there 5-6 times for the finals...it's awesome. Go early, get in the pits. Thats where its at the day of the race.

Also the MMSX (minimoto supercross) is the night before (Friday) at the South Point Hotel.

Make sure you go to Pole Position Raceway. Its an indoor go-karting place. Electric carts that go 45mph! I went online (ebay) and bought some 2 for 1 passes last year and saved a bunch of $$. Its located near the Orleans Hotel off the strip a bit but not far. Enjoy!

I went in 97 and 01. It was a terrific time. Seeing Doug Henry win the race on his YZM was memorable. Just remember to dress warm. SB stadium can get COLD if the wind comes in the right way.
 
My brother and i went in 08... he got the Racer X gas card so we had all day pit access, sat in the press box for the night show and got to walk the track with the riders. highlight of the whole day though was wandering around the stadium and ending up on the roof and then getting in a fight with mike laroccos dad as he kicked us off and made us dump our beers out.
anyways if you have the chance to go, take it. we had a killer time.
 
We went the year JS broke his collarbone and was quading that section...it was the bomb diggity!! SO wish we could go this year....

Thing is, you'd save a lot on the flight if you flew out on Thursday night and maybe more by coming back Monday. Hotels can be fairly cheap depending on where you stay for Thursday and Sunday night. I heard of some staying at the New Orleans I think it was for a reasonable rate. Never been there myself though.

Longer trip, more food, maybe more $$ overall, but so much more fun.... ;)
