IT was really cool to see our local icon out there with the greats this weekend I been telling friends for years they need to have a race with the greats in it hope they have many more to come.

So I was walking down the road after parking and he drove by me and we were like "he that was Trevor..." Then I see him in the pits and said "whatcha doin here?" and he told me he was racing the legends race. Of course I had to give him shiit about it first but that was really cool that he was there racing it! He was out there busting tricks off the big jumps, people were stoked. Nice job Trevor!!!

I thought it was odd John Grewe was in the legends race. Does he qualify as a legend?

Yea you ever been on a practice track in florida with the guy ? If not just go to pax the week before daytona.

All you hear is. Silence. Wrawratwtrarrw. Green blur. Silence.

And then you're like. Seriously wtf.

Actually I have! And been lucky enough to have him and other former pros smoke me and others at Daytona. The guy is fast. I just never remember him riding in Pro Nationals or anything.

I really thought Robbie Reynard would win. He usually turns the fastest laps of the week at LL.

Not when he raced RC there!

Trevor a Legend? Yes. As stated, pioneer in freestyle, first ever Factory Freestyle competitor.

John Grewe? Junior Jackson? Well....more of the "local legend" type of status. Did anyone look like they didn't belong out there once the gate dropped? NO, they all looked good and that they belonged.

Thanks guys!
I was shocked to get an invite last week and struggled a little with the decision to even go. I thought it may help my status with the kids that may think I'm just the dork in the water truck greasing the track down before they go out for a moto. lol
So with a little cattle prodding from a friend and my parents I went. It was fun and I got to see many old friends so I had a great time. Especially coming back healthy.
I qualified for my first national in 1990 at Unadilla. Injuries and lack of confidence held me back a bit i think.
I did race against Emig, Cooper and Stanton in that era though a few times. I stayed a lot closer to them this time than then, so I had that going. I'm certain that my outdoor skills weren't what got me the invite and it was more likely the 7 X Games and many other FMX events that I was in over time. That and they needed people for the GOAT to beat up on.
It would be great to see a roster with more of the greats from back in the day! Maybe if it happens again.
