    1978 - 1979 KX250 parts

I don’t know where these vintage KX’s are coming from but a ‘75 KX400 fell into my lap yesterday. Rough, but very restoreable and complete with a spare motor. Has the kick stand, original dry rotted front tire, tight swingarm, wheels are round and straight and the shocks even still have...

    1978 - 1979 KX250 parts

As usual, it’s rougher than we first thought. It’s suffered through some pretty sketchy wrenching in it’s lifetime and is missing some things but most major components are there and are in pretty decent shape. The motor has a fresh, never fired, top end and it goes thru the gears on the bench...

    1978 - 1979 KX250 parts

My son, Dustin, or I will give you a call in a couple days, Adam. We’re just finishing up a project and can put some time into the ‘78 then. Thanks, Kevin.

    1978 - 1979 KX250 parts

We’re looking for a clutch and stator cover for a ‘78 or ‘79 KX250. From Kawasaki’s parts diagrams it looks like both covers fit ‘74 to ‘79 but I’m not sure about that. I’m hoping someone can confirm. We also need a seat pan or whole seat for a ‘78. I’m told the seats are different between the...

    Anyone missing this bike?

It was posted to an off-road Facebook group I belong to looking to see if anyone recognized it. It was shared numerous times so he might have gotten tired of hearing about it or sold it. Looks to me like someone loved it before it came to be beat up and tired at Gana’s Garage. KRH

Coil and CDI compatibility question - 1984 YZ250

Stick with your Kawasaki’s, Dano. :) I think all that means is the crank taper is the same between all those years, not the components. A PVL is a stand alone system which is why one size fits all. I always go with OEM components, if possible, they’re pretty damn reliable. Kevin

A couple of pics of The Battle Axe in combat this year. The Works shocks were a huge improvement (thanks, Mike) and worth every penny. Kevin

Did he have another bike to ride?

    Damn Strays....

Nice score. How does someone buy a new brand new dirt bike and never ride it? I don't get it.

That thing's a real battle axe. We keep talking about prettying it up but I'm afraid it'd lose its character. It's violent and loud and it'll throw you down and take your lunch money if you don't keep an eye on it. I love that bike.

Ben went 1-2 and won overall in Vintage open B/C. He went down in the second moto and started last. Bummed I missed you this year, Mike. Oh, and I sold that nasty, ugly, ratty but reliable, pit bike I've ridden there for years to an entertaining Englishman that's going to export it to the U.K...

Ben liked the track, he said it was a lot of fun. He raced the whole second moto with only one peg. The damn E-clip somehow came off and he knocked the peg off at the gate. We found it just behind his gate. Anyway, I agree, it was a helluva good time. The campground seemed to be packed, looked...
