COCR is the place to be this weekend. We are having practice Saturday and the final Buckeye series race Sunday. Track is new and needs your personal attention. She's been asking about you and I think she's tired of waiting. So you better come to COCR this weekend... Your friends will be there. Later

I guess that depends on how many riders we get in each class. We have a couple of senior club members that have been taking care of the starting line forever. I can not speak for them and say that we will. I'll make a call and see what we can do. Everybody knows not to mess with Lloyd & Gary's starting line.

Starting line answer is only with too big a class. Hopefully we will have big enough classes. We will be giving away some cool stuff at the riders meeting. Weather is going to be perfect! Finally a nice weekend. We are gonna make you wish you were riding here all year. Did I mention my bike is blown up. Don't be like me and not get to race at COCR this weekend. See ya this weekend.

Same old club mentality, this is why turn outs are low for COCR. use the gates !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you guys. I'd rather use the whole gate but the more gate you use the more you gotta pick up after every class. A guy could walk back and forth up and down the gate flippin them back and forth but that takes time and more effort. We have three guys working the starting line. Two of which who have been working the gate for twenty years. Those two fella's are both over 75 years old. I spoke to one of the two earlier this evening and he wasn't gonna budge over a mere phone call. I will catch them all together and see if we can't use both sides of the gate. I think with the new first turn switchback, starting from the inside might be worth it. Both sides, got it. I'm working on it. See ya

Good Luck to everyone riding tomorrow. In my opinion the layout is fine its plenty fun I hope there is a good turnout for the race for the club. I was going to race myself but the overwatered track discouraged me big time today. I rode 2 laps in 2 sessions then I loaded up and went home. When I raced and won there in the mid 80's you didnt have to plow through 2 small lines down a straight away and fight just to keep on 2 wheels. There is no use having a 20 ft wide track if you only ride on 6"" of it. ruts are ok but not when the entire track is that way it gets old. looks to me like they are a focal point insted of an random occurance like they used to be . To have ruts down a straight before and after and right up to jumps is not good. If you want some input on track prep as Albert Poling, or someone else from back then see how they did it. Maybe go see Dick Klamfoth and ask him how he did his track back in the day when this sport was in its hay-day. I raced there at his place and dust wasnt an issue day or night races and ruts were not near than many or that bad. The way your doing the track prep now just doesnt fly dumping massive amounts of water on the track then having everyone trudge through it doesnt cut it. I have more fum riding there when its concrete on an off weekend racing is hard enough when you already are up against the other riders the bike your on and the track you dont need to fight the water truck too!!!

The sport as a whole is 1/3 of what it used to be just the fact that you talk about wether or not to use the entire gate should tell you something right there I am hoping to see a turn around If I didnt care I wouldlt help as I do now and participate just my 02 cents worth

Was the track rutted? Yes! Was the track overwatered? No! Needed more in my opinion but was good enough for a practice day. I would think that if overwatered, then I would need to wash my bike....however, it isnt needed and dont plan to wash it before racing tomorrow since theres only a little dirt under the fenders. I have been to briar cliff when was rutted around the whole track. Ruts on jump faces, landings, straights and corners. There was approx 200 riders there. Ruts and a little mud to get a track with more than one line......its MX! There were multiple lines today everywhere you looked. Thanks COCR for the effort. Nice to ride a track that has ruts and lines for a change!

Well, the thing that I have learned is that there are essentially three types of riders. 1) I like soft tacky tracks 2) I like firm fast tracks 3) I dont care. The type 1's ride at the beginning, and usually shut it down by 1:30ish usual right before the first signs of dust. Type 2's show up at 12:30 or later after the track is thoroughly run in, and there is little chance that they will get muddy. The third type rides all day, and sits a circle of chairs after they're spent and talks about how great it was.

I praise promoters that can Prep a rutt forming track with the kind of dirt we have in this state. Says volumes about the promoter. Volumes.

Keep the ruts coming, both in the turns and on the straights. The more practice we get in rough situations, it just gives us advantages when we are at a track that isn't as rough.

Track was not perfect today but it was really fun. If you complain about today just stay home and get a pavement scooter.

Thanks to those who came this weekend. The track was almost perfect Saturday. The only problem was the grandstand table top. I didn't water it enough and by 2:30 it was wafting dust out in the crowd. As far as being too wet, your crazy. I needed more water in certian spots to help keep down the dust. We are learning here at COCR. Some of us are bust our hump to give the riders what they want to ride on. We would love to hear any constructive criticism. But if you only rode 4 laps oThanks to everyone n our track, should you go on line and bash our effort? Do you realize the damage that your post cause's? We are trying to bring people in and when they see your lengthy post on how bad all four of your laps were, maybe they will decide not to come. I wouldn't even go on line and say I was so much of a Nancy that I only rode four laps. Maybe track prep has changed scince the 80's. Where do you even ride at? Next time you come you should, take some viagra, wear some depends under your pants and twist the throttle and you will enjoy the sweet ride were getting here in 2011. Probly should delete that but its pretty funny.

I was down there all weekend and I must admit im first to critisize. I only got to ride sat. on a buddy's bike but the track was the best it's been in 5 years. Great job to all who worked hard. I was happy for you guys to get a good turn out both days. Now for some constructive critisism the track flowed really well but 2 things that me and about 20 others talked about sat. night the little table top that everybody cut down the hill from the step up when you make the right need to change something to keep from cutting it. and the 6 pack in the corner while it was fun to try it doesn't race good its one lined maybe run the curve out more you have to brake to hard after the first one but other then that great changes happy that I gave you guys another chance. Hope you guys keep working hard!!

Hippe, you know what go ahead and trash me if that makes you feel good. I dont have a f#c##ng thing to prove to you or anyone else I have spent hours down there on my own dime with my own stuff trying to help you guys

If you think im mouthing off then the next time you see me come over and get you a shot at the title then we will see who needs the depends all I said was that haveing 2 6'' ruts to ride in on a 20ft wide straight was uncalled for I stand on that I think it sucks and I am entitled to my opinion. Since you do with the track whatever you want, why dont you plant some trees down the middle of the track then ride in 2 ruts on ether side of the trees all the way around. and play follow the leader When I raced we had 40 or more riders on the gate not 6 to 10. Go ahead and make fun of me I was racing before you were an itch in your daddys shorts you are just ignorant. Think I cant ride or never could? go see Gary McClain or Loyd Zook, ask them. As for you stay clear of me I dont have s&it to say to you as for me costing you racers there was 180 something out there thats the usual for these days. Alot of good poeple at cocr too bad you are making them look bad

My thought exactly. As far as it being one lined its all you guys fault, in practice sunday out of 150 bikes, 140 were riding the same line from the start of practice to the end. What else do you expect? Track was prepped the same all the way across.
