It's weird. If you walked the track before anyone rode on it, you'd think it was hardpack dried out clay base. It's not. The best and I mean the best time to go there is after it rains. The place is like a sponge. I'd heard riders on the gate say that's the best the dirt and the level of traction had been all year. (it just poured the day before) Once riders start making laps, it's almost like it "discs" itself, if you can imagine that. Dave said it was going to be terrible because of the dirt when we walked it. After first practice and the last moto- he said "I can't believe how much traction you get out there, my wheel never spun or slid all night".

So yeah, I guess you could say it's like shallow sand, but it's so different to what we ride on in Ohio, that even the word 'sand" paints the wrong picture. Crazyiest dirt ever. Looks like s**t, rides great.

The back section is much deeper sand, lotsa fun and some decent berms. They only run the back section on Sundays.
