So true, and I am positive that unlike me, you all practice full discloser and none of you has ever under reported the price paid.
 
How much for that old Magna? It looks nice! 45 or 65? I wouldn't paint it-- just enjoy it for what it is!! --L*64
 
If I die and my wife sold everything for what I told her I paid for it, I'd die again. I read that somewhere and it struck a chord, of course, it doesn't apply to me.........

I try to keep at least one of every color around so when they do show up, they blend in. It's also nice to have a son involved in it with me, I can always blame him.

I find rotating stock is key, keeps them guessing. If you get the purchase home before the wife see it, quickly disassemble and spread through out the garage also works well!
 
These are some new rules I created to swing things in my favor. As long as you give it some thought it's not impulse. For example.
1. If it cost more than you usually carry in you wallet, it's not impulse.
2. If you have to look up the location on your GPS, it's not impulse.

I bought it as you see it. It cost me less than a can of race fuel. No cracks in the frame, cases are not broken, aluminum tank, good hubs, the seat wasn't torn, and no pits on the forks. I feel like I hit the lottery.

Anyone know if a 1977 or 1978 RM370 or 400 motor, carb, and exhaust will bolt up to the frame and air box without any mods?
 
Hahaha! I'm a recovering CL addict.... My name is Luckystar, and I have a problem.... LOL! There should be support groups for people with this type of affliction.

I think it all comes down to wanting to own certain bikes over the years, but never getting them. Sometimes you can find a bike you've always liked but never owned for a song.

I have to look at CL as a form of entertainment. Better and cheaper than the casino!! ---L*64
 
I have gone into slight remission these past couple years and been able to keep the old bike purchases to a minimum. Only thing I've really bought in a year or so was the 1992 RM250 I've raced a couple times this season.

But! --- I did get a little out of control after Mid Ohio regarding the "need" for a Zuma. Now I need to actually go get my Ohio Motorcycle Endorsement.
