Mid-Ohio Plans

looks like I'm bringing the OSSA to tool around with and maybe put in the show if I get some of the ugly spots cleared up and the CT70 sidecar rig will finally make it's midohio debut, should be interesting,my class C rig seems to be doing way much better(and drier)than last time I had it out,we will be at the highest point of the campground far end, close to the MX pits

Mike,

Good news that it looks like you will have at least 1 bike up and running for Mid-Ohio.

Work travel is threatening my VMD plans. I am being eaten by mosquitos in the middle of Africa at an oil production camp hoping that my anti-malaria medicine is doing its job.

My plan is to get out of here in time but there are rumbings about extending my stay. ARGH!

Are you state-side yet?

If they try to keep you, follow Barbara Bush's advice: JUST SAY NO!

So I want to get there early Thursday. Anyone know if you can get in at noon?
I always see the good spots taken along the track well before I get there Thursday evening...

Last year I got there about noon on Thursday and was told I couldn't get in the main campground until 5 unless I was a vendor. A half hour later they came by an told me to go on in. Previous years they let me right in. I'm still planning on being there Thursday early/mid morning this year.

I've never camped in the MX pits. I'm pretty sure you'll be good to go Thursday morning BUT get there early, those spots go fast and are usually filled when I get there.

beenridin, you can get in at noon if you are going in the mx pits off steam corners road.

Yep, I got back. Plan it to get to Mid-Ohio early on Saturday morning.

I have a few more days of taking drugs to prevent malaria and then just need to get over the side-effects. There were 1500 cases of Malaria at the site I was at in 2014 and I did get bitten by mosquitos.

The list of potential side-effects is disturbing for a weekend of racing and swap meet browsing.
  • problems with speech, balance, or walking;
  • easy bruising, unusual bleeding
  • weakness
  • dizziness.
  • lack of ability to get holeshots
  • failure to double when appropriate
  • increased impulse to spend money at old bike swap meets
My wife said she can't notice any difference on the first 6 and that I better be fully cured of the last side-effect.

I will have to dissapoint her, yet again.

Ha ha,
Hitting 50 this year, I thought those were all normal symptoms for vet racers :D

Glad you're back Dan.

I just googled "is Malaria contaiguous?" with the following intent.

No=stop by and say hi to Dano when you see him

Yes=wave at Dano as you are buzzing by on your pitbike

You're in luck, depending on how you look at it, as apparently it only comes from mosquitos and is not. Now the mosquito could draw blood from you and bite one of us so just to be safe use plenty of bug repellent my friend.

I didn't get a bike together for this weekend but am offering up personal videos if anyone would want one. I did one for NQ1965 last year from Action Sports. Let me know everything that you are racing this weekend and I'll quote you a fair price around it. You can email me at kyle10wolfe@gamail.com for all of the info.

If you're one that loves watching motorcycle racing videos, I highly recommend.
The quality of the race footage, video production and editing were very good, especially with large class's and good race action.
We still put our DVD in regularly and watch it. And we are very, very grateful that we raced all of the GP's last season which gave them a lot of footage to work with.

Count me in again Kyle.
