OMA Potential Class Changes

So after a decent spitball session on this, I'm wondering if we make a 250 A/B Allstar (no more straight 250 A), and leave the Open classes (A B C) and 250 B as is. OR, Open A/B Allstar leave 250 A, and make the other B class 450/250 B?

for the all star class just split the difference on cost and make it $35.

The added number of entries would make up the difference, and assuming an A rider wins would still make more money since more racers in it.

You could even charge the a riders 40 but then charge the b riders the standard rate 30.

they race, however they finish you look at their designation. If a B rider wins, he gets a gift card or trophy or whatever that every am class gets. And if the first A rider is second, he gets paid out for 1st with the purse money....would have to develop a process that looks at designation and place. But could be done easily in my opinion....
Did you just describe running 2 classes together, with separate results and separate awards, eliminating the point of running 2 classes together?

No....they still get paid. But you can’t pay b riders out....I guess the way I described it above would be like running two different classes in same gate drop. Definitely don’t want that.

Open a/b all star wouldn’t limit cc and allow easy gate filling with 250s and 450s.

example

1st - b rider. $75 gift card
2nd - a rider 50 cash
3rd a rider 25 cash
4th b rider 10 gift card

Another Example
1st a rider - $75 fadh
2nd a rider 50 cash
3rd b rider 25 gift card

make sense ? So everyone pays the $40 entry fee. But they’re getting track bucks or purse money back would really be the only way to do it. You’d have to convert the purse into gift cards for the B guys that do well. I’m designated as a b rider, I’d run that class. I can expect some b riders would win too...especially if they’re national caliber riders. I just wanna beat everyone to the first turn then drop the anchor l.

I think you could payback A riders the way you usually do depending on finish and total purse . B riders should be a standard payback of no more than the cost of sign up for that class , say $40 , depending on finish that way you could have on hand the prepaid Visa cards needed to hand out to B riders . The way I see it is by just getting sign up money back a B rider still remains an amateur , they are not actually making money racing and can still have incentive to race the combined class.

Another little coincidence I've come across after going through the OMA rule book is the age requirements for "A" and "B" classes are different. A class is 16, 250B is 12+, 14+ for 250 2 stroke, Open B is 14+. That could make things messy there as well.

I would go with open A/B all stars, there’s more people riding 250’s vs Open bikes. So 250A and 250B would still have decent turn outs, and just make it Open A/B

40 classes!?!?!

you guys complain about getting enough laps and leaving late. That’s a week worth of motos to get in on one day. 80 motos total. Geeezzz

“I want 8 laps and to leave by 2pm”

good luck with that line up.
