OMA Potential Class Changes

Got any good stories of those who did Bruce ?
No. I just know it is a lot easier to convert a dealer check into cash than a visa card (or at least it once was). Years ago, I thought I understood how Red Bud was issuing dealer checks to B riders, so I asked some one that I knew from MI what he knew about them. His reply, "Funny that you ask, Rider X (his sponsored rider) just brought one into the shop and asked if I could cash it."
Straight from check to cash for the rider.

If you can run 10, your not pushing hard enough.
You're kidding, right? I mean you originally said this would help riders prepare for LL and pro. Even LL is 20 min motos. The regionals are now much longer. How is this productive to that end if you think 10 laps is too hard?

Now that fast guys at LL are pushing for that length of time, if not longer. Do we need to have a talk about all gas and brakes and no coasting??

Lol.... the point is the people you're pitching this to need to do it in a race situation. Regionals are long now, LL is long. Why deprive one class of that race time ?

A long time ago when I was in shape, I could easily push 10 laps. Even today, my fastest lap times are the end of a moto.

Because I have to apply changes to all tracks, not just those that the elite crowd chooses to grace with their presence. I think the ideas that victory is going to try is interesting and exciting, but applying this across the board to all OMA tracks with all the various crowds and rider types might be a bit difficult.

what I meant above is that some people talk about riding for so many laps and this much time, and feel like a lot of those people are pacing just to make it sound like they’re badass. When you could just push till your spent and build up that base till you can go 7-8 laps on the wood. Local racing cannot be like that, people will get hurt.

The change they're making affects 4 classes directly (Open A, Open B, 250A, 250B), and who knows what classes indirectly because people will either gel to it and run them, or choose other classes to run because they don't like it. When you think about it like that, I wonder if its worth making those waves at all 20-24 OMA events, or just leave it like it is.

Leave it like it is. If you want to grow the A&B classes find a way to reward those that are ready for moving up. Maybe A should go 15 laps, B gets 10. A class could probably just be open as well, a lot of guys running a 250 in both as is.
