Just so everyone knows, Im strongly considering moving that gate again, for a variety of reasons.....so its interesting to hear the comments about how people like the start. Im not a fan, I think its too tight and heavily favors gate selection on the left, but i do like having the two turns, and short straights.

I was concerned when I first saw the sharp 180 too, but it was not an issue for the vast majority of starts. It does favor the middle left, so maybe just opening up the first turn so the right gates have room and a chance to sweep around? If you feel the need to mess with it.

That was my first BC experience. Kinda has the feel of Reidsville NC mixed with Lake Sugar Tree - the Lake.
This would just be easier in a list...
1. Great facility
2. Signup Sunday morning took less then 1 minuet. I was greeted with a hello and a smile at the gate. Announcer followed the racing well. Flaggers mostly were positioned good and watched their section. = Very good staff
3. "Track stewards" with radios watching from the announce stand. Called for a black flag in practice for jumping on yellow and actually used it... BRAVO. First time I seen it used in decades.
4. Alex was there..
5. Ruts and braking bumps everywhere.
6. Teamwork between promoters, then they were smart enough not to let J.O. talk during the riders meeting.
7. Program ran smooth even with the delay (the delay was for sure the correct decision)
8. The event had everything. People I have not seen since the '90's, Full gates, even a fight between crazy 50 parents... Ahhh the good old days.

Now, the down side.
1. Way too many classes.
2. Not enough laps per moto. (see #1)
3. I have 2 broken ankles from walking on those boulders in the driveway. #57 gravel is a thing... may want to investigate.
4. I like the track layout, but the tunnel jump in the middle really cuts down on the viewing.

And the biggest issue for me:
People bringing your f'ing dogs to the track... Leave them at home. If you don't want to do that, then YOU stay home with them.
I love dogs. I have two. But I leave them at home when I go racing. You may think your dogs is the greatest and would NEVER bit anyone. Well guess what. Not everyone likes dogs, let alone YOUR dog. One lady was being pulled around like a rage doll by some horse dog. How can that be enjoyable? Several inconsiderate a-holes actually had their dogs on the viewing platform. These are the people that ruin it for EVERYONE and the reason why a lot of tracks are banning pets at the track.

Oh, One more issue. You need to have more races per year. If Ohio riders got to race on quality tracks, with those conditions, more often. You would see many more Buckeyes on the box at Loretta's

This really upsets me that I have so little to complain about.

I like the gate where it is. Maybe move the first turn over a bit to even it out.

The start is fine, put your efforts elsewhere. I started my first moto on the far outside and was fine going through the first turn. It's not as unfair as it looks.

In my opinion the middle to the left of the start box SHOULD be the best spot on starts with left hand first turns, and that's exactly how BC is.

Maybe widen the sweep around, but that's it. BC start is light years better than a lot of LL Qualifiers I've raced. Again don't waste effort changing something that's fine and better than most tracks.

I had my dogs in the platform for about 10 minutes. Didn't think they were a nuisance.

I don't see any issues with dogs if they're well controlled and not dragging people around.

What if you eliminated the roller portion of sand ? And just left that whole straight sandy. It'll rough itself up. Every moto there were yellow flags about every lap in that section.

For the start just put a huge berm in turn 1 and widen it. It'll be perfect. I love your start. I always get great starts at your track.

I agree with you on the gate, sizable advantage to the left. I'm not sure what you could do to even it up. Looks like a few beers and google earth are on the horizon. What if you angled the gate more with it's back toward the Powerline ROW, then shave some of the grass out in between straights. A bit less of a turn, looks to be more choices for gate pick and should mess up your staging lanes or overall layout too bad.

That's funny about the dogs. I personally wouldn't want the hassle of bringing a pet to a race. I did notice the lady with the huge dog, I thought it might have been a great dane. I was there taking pictures, so it really wasn't an issue for me

There are so many different sides to the dog issues. I work at a animal facility and our main concern is dogs biting. People need to be reminded that dogs are animals not humans. they smell something funky, they bite. they don't like you, they bite. or they are just confused, they bite. I am in the process of getting my dog certified to be my service dog. I would never take him to a race, to much noise. I have taken him to Smith Road so he could swim in the pond! But every dog is different as well as every owner. The main thing I have noticed is people not picking up after their dog. "Its a dirt bike track, everyones muddy anyways" yeah theres a difference between mud and poop.

We will be adding the item 411 material that is at the top of the drive each year to bring it to the bottom to "finish" the drive. Right now I'm at 30k in driveway stone since last year, we can only do so much each year, but we will get there.

Georgie must be on pain meds so ignore everything he said. The sand rollers were great. Yes, people went down, but EVERY moto that small section produced more passing then the rest of the track combined. If anything, extend it around the next corner and up to the little double.
And you didn't think your dog was a nuisance because it is YOUR dog. Trust me, it was for the other people.

DHDS01 in rare form! That was one of the highlights of my Sunday! in all fairness he had good reason to be a little more edgy than normal.

Was only our second time to the track and we really love it. That track was a blast. Agree with all the kudos already mentioned, particularly given the rain Saturday, awesome job by the crew.

The only thing I took issue with, and I can't believe no one brought it up yet, was all of the pit riding by kids clearly under 16. My son badgered me all w/e how he wants a pit bike so he can bring it to the track. I told him at least 30 times, no pit riding by kids under 16 (he's 14). Then he points to all of the kids on pit bikes and says "see, they are allowed to do it". Makes it hard to enforce the rules as a parent when sometimes you feel like you are the only one doing it.

My 2 cents. Other than that, great job and a really fun w/e!

I agree, i get lost in the running of the event, and policing the off the track issues got away from us. We did not do a good job enfrocing our rules. We need a track dick.....well....we got one, but we use him in the center tower to watch over the flaggers!

I agree with nitro fish, that makes the most sence to me.
I also agree with Abie if your dog poops, pick it up, it's common courtesy . Also, if your dog is possibly aggressive and you feel you still need to bring them, then muzzle them. Our very friendly golden retriever was attacked and bit by two enormous dogs at Chilltown.
I also can't believe how some of these parents yell and scream at there kids over the racing. Is the kid going to lose their contract or something if they don't win? Come on parents get your sh it together and let the kids progress and help build their confidence, don't tear them down.
BC this weekend was great, great job by the crew and all involved in putting this event together. Some phenomenal racing and nice size gates.

One more thing, was the Chillitown plane an agreed to advertising plan, just curious.

I forgot about all the pit riding!!!! I almost hit 10 kids flying by me and swerving in front of me when I was trying to leave!!! I gave em the finger.

What a great weekend for racing! Sunday was PERFECT ! Even on a loaner bike I had a blast and rode well.

Leave the start alone, its perfect. If I can pull a hole shot from the middle on a borrowed 250F in brand new boots I cant feel my feet with in the +30 class then there isnt much advantage to the left side!

The sand rollers are very difficult, leave them! I made passes there, its good stuff to keep racing great. The PW kids even made it through without issues. Its a Baker thing.


The crew did an amazing job, keep it up! The Battle for Ohio Series has been amazing. The turnouts are proving it. Keep up the great work.


I cant believe Knox's negative list was so short! My only 2 complaints are
1. Saturday evening pit riding was beyond out of control
2. Dogs arent the only thing pooping on things in the pits

Thanks for bringing that up.....And you knew who I was and didnt come say hi? Shame on you.

I guess the other Dad thought I was cheating by teaching my son how to watch the gate and start. I guess the factory contracts start in the PW class. I apologized the next moto to him for my part of it and he just stared at me and didnt know what to say I guess.

The Mini parents were definitely off the hook this weekend! I found it kinda comical, sad and embarrassing all at the same time. I did police the C track and mini track for pit riding, got the finger a few times but most of the time the kids said sorry and moved along. Overall I felt proud of our MX community that was there.
