Scenic Highlands...

I miss that place. On a good day, it was moto nirvana for me. So many good memories, and a few bad ones. I would love to see more pics from back in the day if anyone has some.

We loved practicing and racing at Scenic with a lot of great times there. The GP's were a blast and raced 3 of them on my old KTM 525 one weekend. Before having a motorhome in 2005 we use to drive down for practice, back home and there again for racing on Sunday! My daughters first race was on a PW 50 there back in 2002. My favorite track layout was the original one and missed the long down hill section when it was removed. Thanks Tim and crew for giving us a great place to ride for many years as have tons of great memories there.

Chris Hause should remember the very first days there. A crew of us from Midwest got to go before it was even really a track. Just a few jumps amd all that land. We even parked at the road. It was just gnarly at the time. I need to fire up my old laptop and kick out some pics from that day.
 
I completely miss this place from the 2000-2001 version when it had horsepower hill, the version when the rocks weren't as noticeable. I remember the first time I pulled up over the hill and saw it prepped. I would have crossed the Mojave desert bare foot to ride there that day. As a matter of fact that was when they had a split schedule, I showed up in the morning, quads at 4:30 they said, I will be back I said, so I did. Then I proceeded to run 4 motos in like an hour or something, maybe an hour an a half with short intermission. I was in heaven. My calves actually cramped up during the 4th moto, that never had happened before.

Maybe that was my issue, I didnt make it to the track until the 08 season.

Stopped by scenic today to check it out. Who's going to put in the work to make it rideable again :)

Even looks like tonight's premier class podium finisher graced us with his presence way back when. Someone ought to take a chance to preserve history haha
