2018 Battle Series

tvland is at its best in the spring. And the fall. The pits are mowed. Flat. They have a seperate peewee track. They could do well in the spring with a battle round. Track has potential to get awesome when there are a lot of riders to run it in on a spring race day. Might be flat, but has nice flow.

Ctmx and BC are flat ? Only place that I can think of that isn’t flat are the ones in new Philadelphia area. Like beans. Beans would be a good battle round as well

Made the 3.5 hour trip to TV Land last year. Track was awesome, really hoped they would have quads back this year. If that track was on the Chillitown property it would be awesome.

IMO it felt like TV Land really relies on weather to make the track work. Might be hard to keep up with a battle event if it's hot and sunny. Like Georgie said, spring or fall would be sweet.

Just go 5 rounds adding TV and East Fork, and do away with the super series.

I'll pit in the woods with Bigfoot. Bring it on.

Leave it as is.

3 rounds.
Same weekend schedule.

If anything, less classes, more combined classes and staggered starts. Shorter, quicker program without extra classes.

I wasn't able to make the final round this year due to storm work, but the second round at CTMX left me frustrated because of the long program. I didn't line up for my first moto until after 2:30pm and wasn't even the last race in the race order. I left after the first moto, as it appeared that many others did as well.

Rideas meeting on the handout at the gate and over the PA system on race day. Done.
Nobody listens to the PA. Thought we discussed that already ??? Everyone listens in staging if you got a guy with a loud ass voice or booming megaphone talking before they call you to the gate...

Besides any newcomers to the sport will be lost with a handout and trying to listen over The PA. “What’s that mean? What’s a call? Huh....what’s a 450 open?”

I'm definitely for moving Briarcliff, at least off the Ironman Pro National weekend. It's been my gripe every year. Big amateur race weekend and the closest Pro National weekend for a lot of people to spectate or local pros to race at. Other than that, I like the 3 race setup and the two day format.

Fun fact about your AMA rules:
It is one of the Referee's responsibility to have a riders meeting that includes the stating procedure, Flags, location of medical and how to contact the referee.
No where (that I could find) does it say how or when this information is to be distributed...
So over the PA or by handout at the gate is good enough.

I hate to open this can of warms but... according to the rules, an "organized practice" is NOT required... but if offered, riders must only be on the course with his/her group. You sneak out, you can be DQ'ed
That means about half of the people should have been DQ'ed at Chilitown.

It would be sweet to see the 4th round go to tv land! There’s enough parking and it would just be good all around.

That would be a 3.5 hour drive for us and we’re in Columbus... from what I’ve seen if tvland is its flat and kinda narrow. Couldn’t justify driving that far for a track like that
Stop complaining lol. We drive 2 hours to Vern 4 to brier cliff and 4.5-5 hours to chilitown. You either want to race or want to complain... I see where your coming from but a lot of us are driving really far for these races.

There isn't enough time to announce that at staging, get everyone lined up and let them get gated before the gate could be dropped. Most riders meetings last 10 min or so. A local moto last at most 8 mins, it takes 3/4 of that just to gate riders. That leaves 2 mins to get a 10 min speech in. Easily adding 3 mins to each gate drop x 24 .... far longer than a normal riders meeting. Not to mention, who wants to announce that 24 times?

Redbud does it before moto 1. Works fine. Talks for 2 minutes. Lines em up. Go racing. Before practice would be fine too. Redbud guarantees that everyone is present for the pre moto 1 riders meeting. Short sweet. Done.

Except that if you are last gate pick your having a panic attic cause the red light is on and you are not even in the gate yet.
