Federal Spending Cuts-Sequestration.

PBS/Frontline ran a documentary called "The Choice 2012" back in October which I found to be interesting as it covered the backgrounds and history of the two candidates. The Frontline documentaries are usually enlightening and educational so I like to catch them when I can. I think that if more American voters would have watched this it might have rendered a different Presidential outcome.

And the irony is that part of Romneys spending cut plans was to stop subsidizing PBS.

Romney had no chance to win. My belief is the government (particularly the dems but also the republicans) are working to create a society of people that depend on the gov for support. You support enough of society in a fashion where they dont have to work very hard , if at all, to make a livable income(and I mean livable not enough to enjoy it at all) and you get their vote for what ever you want. Society isnt going to vote out what they need.

I liked Ryan when they were running. Since then, Ryan has compromised his principles on a couple votes, and I will not support him in the future for a Presidential or VP run. Michelle Bachmann is the one person in Washington that understands the budget, and "gets" it. I like what she is saying, and her voting record proves that she votes her values, and does not cave on any of them. She has voted against her own party on many of the compromises that they have made.

I too voted for Ross Perot, not once, but twice.

The US Mail service is reporting today, they lost 1.9 billion dollars in the 2nd quarter. Most due to health care cost for retirees. And we continue to deliver mail the same way. Does anyone else think if we subcontracted the US Mail Service to UPS or FedEx, that they would figure a way to get the USPS running in the red?

Now today we hear about Obama wanting to forgive student loans........are you kidding me? And if you work for the federal government, you get the sweetest deal on loan forgiveness.

You mean running in the black, yes UPS could do it. Forgive student loans. You are putting me in a fit of rage...stop it. I wont be able to read this forum anymore.
Why are we even talking about this shtuff. It is too far gone. figure out a way to bend the rules in our favor, take all we can get for free, manipulate the system.

that is what our government is teaching us anyway..

HAHAHAHAHA. You're making my belly hurt.

Oh wait, you mean in 2023? If the critter's projections are right?

HAHAHAHAHA!

Both budgets were scored by the Congressional Budget Office.

Ryan's budget that passed the House restrained growth to 3.8% and balances in 10 years, and does not raise taxes. It does increase revenue by leasing more federal lands for energy development. (According to the CBO, if we froze growth and stayed at current levels, the budget would balance in 5-7 years.)

The Senate budget that finally passed recently (for the first time in 5 years) increases spending by 9-12% annually and includes your typical democrat tax hikes, and increases the defecit by 16 trillion over ten years and never balances according to the CBO. Harry Ried doesn't even try to hide the numbers, defends defecit spending and has stated that he does not see it as a problem.

Not that I'm a big fan of the accurracy of the CBO, but if you stand behind the senate budget as a better choice by default just because the House budget makes you laugh, I'll again state that I don't understand how you can operate a business unless you're building solar panels with government subsidies.

I don't stand behind any budget coming from the clowns in congress.
Just pointing out that if you think the house's budget was something a rational
person would pass, that wasn't only looking at being re-elected, I think you
are mistaken. Hilariously mistaken.

Crap like making tanks the military doesn't want. Funding Reagan's starwars
(STILL!). On and on and on because it buys votes. Funny how some people
think that Obama is buying votes by giving away stuff but don't recognize it
when their congresscritter does the same.

I operate a business by making my customers happy, staying on schedule and
in budget. Currently have a government subcontract in house but sort of
unusual, no solar panels. Not too much government teat here.

I certainly would suckle it if the opportunity arose though. And they'd get
the best engineered teat sucking they ever had.

Unfortunately, congress won't let them make the changes (they've asked) required to become profitable.
Does that mean we should replace the postal service or the congress?

US mail already uses UPS planes for shipping. They have no planes themselves. It's quite comical. They just write gov't checks to the private companies and UPS/fedex stock soars.

By the way those three services are merging. The new company name is set to be: US FEDUPS

That's good!

If I'd been getting a blow job in the oval office, I'd have been doing a happy dance for months.
