Ive been up all night, government healthcare

Iranian victims? Let me introduce you then to Hamas, Taliban and Hezbollah.

Many many Iranians are not terrorists but are being killed by terrorist groups, like those you mention. On a scale unfathomable here in the good ole USofA.

Kinda like what's going on with the swimmers. Let's see if they're stuck in Brazil longer than burgdoll was awol in Afghanistan.

Yea what the heck is going on there? Did they get into some altercation at a gas station
and then lie about it? Way too little info at present but all seems hard to believe.

And this bonehead gets huge press with scant coverage for Obama's Iran ransom payment. Excuse me, that was merely a leveraged transfer of acceptable currency.

Cleveland clinic had their best year on record last year. OvamscareobamaScamaCare ain't hurting them. They're like the Amazon.com of healthcare.

Obamacare had no effect on the cost if healthcare. Thanks to the insurance lobby and republifucks that insisted on changes in committee then didn't vote for it.

You can not like BHOcare all you want but until somebody reins in health care costs, doesn't matter. Costs will rise and guys like Georgie will continue to make a living from it. At some point it will become unsustainable enough we will be forced to go to single payer and regulate cost. Probably.

Well Sturd, if that happens, I hope it includes politicians, government works, school teachers and Union workers. Let them live by the same rules. But it will probably just include the people, not the socialist.

The somebodies who would do the reigning in have lost their power in post-constitutional America. Anybody want to guess who those somebodies might be?

The cost increases in health insurance are a direct result of the ACA. Forcing companies to cover people they dont want to at costs that were unrealistic. The Gov promised massive enrollment by both healthy and unhealthy people that turned out to only be the unhealthy, who would have thought? Gov subsidies to the insurance companies didnt pan out either, another surprise. Whats great about this you ask? This is EXACTLY what opponents of the ACA said would happen before it was made law.

In order to cover losses in the marketplace companies are forced to raise costs on premiums AND reduce benefits. Or they cut their losses and leave.

All things that you claim arent happening or wouldnt happen. The ACA needs to disappear.

Look at a graph of total health care cost versus time. There is no change in the slope after the implementation of the ACA. It may have shifted some cost to you but it shifted cost off of some too.

Problem with it is that it did nothing to control cost.

A story. Our customer, with our help, developed a machine to perform a particular infusion in the peritoneum that warmed it up and made the cancer drugs work a lot better. Current state of the art is to use a $250k heart/lung machine and $25k disposalable kit. Their machine cost $10k and the disposable was $1k (we found a way to make them for $90,nice markup).

But when they hit the market, nobody would use them as they were now marking up the kit the same percentage, per insurance rules. One they got 25%-ish of $25k the other 25% of $1k. No contest.

And do you know why they were allowed to do that? Because republifucks deemed review of situations like this Death Panels.

So now we are to believe the hapless, minoriy Republicans were able to brilliantly place a poison pill in Obamacare and then audaciously vote against the Democrat's signiture bill?

Any real ideas why costs go up?

I was in agreement with you until the last statement. Health care costs have been going for long before the ACA was passed. I agree that the ACA did nothing to control costs. It seems the ACA missed that mark by a wide margin. It did provide coverage to those who might not otherwise be able to get it though.

So why have costs risen so dramatically over the last 20 or so years. I came out of college 20 years ago and have watched them rise ever since.

I recognize you have a tendency to blame everything on republicans, but I don't see the linkage between the "death panel" discussion and the excessive mark-up of your company's product. Pretty sure the reason it was marked up so high is because they can, and greed. I also believe this is the primary reason all healthcare costs have gone up so much in the last 20 years.

I don't blame everything on republifucks or democraps. They both are stupid. But this forum mostly has people on it that seem to, maybe I'm wrong but that's my impression, blame everything on progressives or at least democraps. So I end up sounding like I'm defending democraps when I'm just trying to get to the truth.

The death panel comment is because the one thing I'm intimately aware of that would cut costs is insuring standard of care and review of outcomes and how those can apply to cost. However the republifucks labeled all that Death Panels and the religious right and other right leaning groups believed that and generated enough pressure to kill the idea.
Lot's (LOTS) of that pressure came with money from the industry - who did not believe that lie but wanted to maximize profit.

A place I know calls it "Cost repositioning." Reposition the profits, to cover the losses. Conitnue to buy up hosptials and clinics. Get too big, that you can't fail. right?

Lets be realistic, costs have been going up for 20 years, I have been covering my employees costs for 16. Those costs went up minimally prior to the ACA passing. As all these reports that Ive shown, and many others, since the ACA costs have risen dramatically more than any other time. On top of the Insurance premiums have been even worse. Insurance coverage has dramatically declined. The reasons are clear, Obama, in his fianl draft, omitted the cost control sections of the ACA. The largest majority of people enrolling are sick. The subsidies for individuals and families havent been what was promised causing a large premium due at the end of the year on taxes. The government subsidies to the insurance companies havent been paid in full.

All these issues are why most insurance companies have committed to dropping out in 17 or already have. It isnt a party issue, its a failed government run health care act.

Medicare for all.
