5th annual Moto Mayhem

?????? OMA is NOT a sanctioning body? Since when? Do they not track points ? Do they not have year end awards? Yes a district does this but when the OMA was formed you were NOT required to have an AMA membership for any of this. Then the AMA leaked in. Now your saying it is required for all of the CTMX races? Im sorry but this IS new for the racers that race OMA. I know its a dead horse but no one has yet to tell any one how having an AMA membership enhances my (or any one elses ) racing experience in the OMA.

Some one please step up to the plate and tell me how this makes anything better in the OMA. Obviously there is some benefit to the tracks or it wouldnt be happening.

When we began the OMA, it was because we were tired of the club and old mentality BS, think every other CK1 post. So OMA was formed. At the time I was like yeah sure, we can reinvent everything........Ummmm no said the people. I can tell you that OMA has everyones attention, and by no means are 1 sided toward the AMA. I think we have a good working relationship, and I would like to continue that. I do think that Motocross is better now, than it was 5 years ago.

Maybe you havent been paying attention, but there hasnt been race at Bc that was not an AMA sanctioned event since the spring of 2014. If you want Ohio mx to grow you need seeds for your facilities. Well seeds cost money, big events allow you to buy more seeds (rocks, water wells, equipment). The AMA is helping us bring bigger events into Ohio, and thus we have more seeds to help regrow Mx in Ohio. Now buy the membership, you will probably spend more on silly s**t this week than the AMA card.

AND NO, not all OMA races will be AMA next year, but there will be a few.

Chillitown has been a tremendous suprise for the Ohio racing scene, and they continue to push the envelope on being innovative with their events, they get people talking. They have a good model when it comes to promotion. I think you should help them get to that next rung, and just go racing.

So...how much EXTRA CASH do I need to bring for the transponder?
100 buckaroos...and is the rental still 15 smackers?...and 20 bucks for credit cards?

Everyone should be an AMA member. My whole family is and only Nick and I race. Look at it as a $50 a year donation to fight for many things motorcycle.

I love transponders. Hershey, dont be so sad, just because everything moto you love burnt to the ground!!!

Besides, with all the money I will save by never voting for a school levy, and never donating to the a holes that put out a bone fire or escort them to the house. I will save thousands.
We give more money to these criminals. ( state, city, federal, FOP, ) and none of the money goes where it is supposed to. (Please, keep it moto) Last year I donated thousands... no more.

My point! SUPPORT THE ONES THAT SUPPORT YOUR SPORT!!!!!!!

Well said JO. There are a lot of things that the racers don't see that benefit them in different ways. Everyone is so quick to point and criticize without knowing all side of the issue. Everyone wants big events, big awards, lots of giveaways and swag, free passes, fast and smooth ran events but in order to give everyone what they beg for we sometime have to partner with big organizations to make that happen. Most of your sizable industry sponsors look to see what organizations you are a part of and the AMA is huge and been around for a long time. OMA is still in its infancy and lacks that national exposure we need as promoters to bring you the events you all want. Is the OMA growing? Yes... Without a doubt! But we still aren't there yet and we need a sanctioning body like the AMA to help give us the credibility we need to give you what you all want.

Can we still run a top notch event without the AMA? Sure we can and we have proven that too but instead of getting thousands of dollars in free advertising, marketing tools, prizes and swag so that we can get full gates and big turnouts we are spending thousands we don't have to get the same result. Does that mean since we are partnering with the AMA that we are pocketing fat stacks of cash? No! It just means that we are able refocuse funds to other areas to give you one hell of a kick ass event!

We hope that you will show up and join in on what we believe will soon be the biggest race weekend in the mid-east for the month of October.

Not trying to steal anyones thunder here, cough cough flyover at Bc Battle cough cough, but the OMA will make the pre-registration as an option to all OMA tracks next year. Its not mandatory, but it will be an option for those that wish to take advantage of it.....damn cats are restless today.

Wish we could have heard your reaction while running the dozer. "What is that airplane pulling? CTMX Oct... That son of a..."

Ok, I figured out the transponder deal. Now I'm trying to find out if one day AMA cards are available? Also, is the AMA card required to practice on saturday? Trying to keep some entry level racers from missing out on this event. ..But it's not looking good.

Seems lots have changed since the spring race. Thanks!

Here is a link that answered my transponder questions if anyone else needs info.

Did you know you get free roadside assistance in any vehicle you own or are riding in if it ever breaks down? 35 miles to a repair shop or home if you're that close. And it's not a refund AMA cuts the wrecker a check. Well not AMA but the contracted company.

Car, truck, motorcycle, BICYCLE, Motorhome, razor, funmover, that wierd polaris backwards three wheeled contraption. And that other can am wierd fairy looking thing, a humvee....maybe a tank even.

And Hershey 20% off the red roof inn. Alot cheaper than making your hauler a red roof on the side of the road....

And all large events/minimum mandate series should be pre-entry.(maybe then the promoter can go....well, we might actually make a profit in a mud race) And should be transponded. Maybe then people won't stay at home if a rain storm blows through the night before because you already paid your money to race.

HOLY CRAP! Having to race in the mud? WWHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Is this the 1977 my dad always talks about ?

I agree with everything you said, except the last part.. You can have my money, but I ain't riding in the mud. I'd call it a gift to the promoter. Lol Only mud ridin for me will be qualifiers if need be. Call me a pansy or whatever, but till someone else is willingly paying for my bikes and gear, you can laugh all ya want.

Pansy
Just following instructions

4 laps in the mud is like 50 dry laps. It tears crap up. Period. I've got 20 years worth of mud races under my belt. I've had my share. Done with those days.. I ride better in the mud and wouldn't mind it for qualifiers. But for no real reason, nahhhh...

Jeremy hit the nail on the head. The AMA gives the OMA credibility. And without the AMA the tracks are not in the running for qualifiers and regionals. I am sure the association with the AMA also helps bring in factory contingency money without a doubt also. There are many benefits.

I just laugh, people bitch about $39 a year for the AMA card, but will spend $300 for something on their bike that does not make them faster what so ever.

WRONG!!!!!

Had my car trailer behind the truck one day, got a flat and couldnt get it off. Called the AMA roadside assistance ....... was told since it wasnt a motorcycle related trailer it wasnt covered. Last year when I called to add Ayla and make a family membership out of the 2 we have I asked about the trailer incident. I was told it should have been covered. Who knows, obviously not every one at the AMA...... oh and by the way , they never processed my family membership so Ayla still doesnt have a card. It just goes to prove to me that they dont know what they are doing in there.
